Pithaecusa staff - the best
The staff at this hotel were outstanding. Always friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond what is usually expected (I needed some shirts to be laundered and they were returned to be the next day ironed and in pristine shape - this is a first for me). The only downside (but, being a small town, this would be true of all hotels in Casamicciola) is that this town had a lively and noisy nightlife in the town square up until midnight on Saturday night. That can be a plus if you are in the younger age group - but I was trying to sleep! A visit in late June is ideal - not too crowded and not too hot. I was told that Ischia is quite full in July and August.
The walk to the port and to the town center is literally about 5 minutes max, though there is a relatively steep road so I wouldn't recommend this for someone in a wheelchair or on crutches. If you arrive by ferry or hyrdofoil from Naples, the walk to the hotel is short and simple. If you arrive in Ischia Porto, you would need to take a taxi (so it makes sense to find one of the ferries that goes directly to Casamicciola).
