Schöne, geräumige Unterkunft
Die Lage: Für unseren einwöchigen Urlaub im Norden Irlands haben wir eine zentral gelegene Wohnung gesucht und gefunden. Von ihr aus kann man in einer Stunde viele schöne Sehenswürdig erreichen. Sie liegt zentral im kleinen Städtchen Castlederg direkt an der Hauptstraße (dafür nur drei Sterne) - das war uns aber bekannt. Es gibt zwei Supermärkte und mehrere Imbisse/Pubs in Laufweite. Eine Tankstelle gibt es ebenfalls um die Ecke. Den einzigen Geldautomaten (ATM) hat man leider kürzlich abgebaut. Zur Wohnung: es gibt zwei Schlafzimmer (ein Doppelbett und zwei Einzelbetten) mit Bettzeug und dicker Decke - kalt wird es einem nicht. Eine Wohn-Esszimmer-Küche Kombination und ein Badezimmer mit elektrischer (!) Dusche. (Man muss an einer Schnur ziehen und schaltet damit die Dusche ein). Zum Kochen sind einige Töpfe und Pfannen vorhanden. Eine Kaffeemaschine fehlt, es gibt auch kein Filterhalter oder ähnliches. Wer morgens seinen Kaffee haben möchte, sollte sich etwas für die zum Zubereitung mitbringen. In jedem Zimmer gibt es Nachtspeicheröfen, die richtig gut heizen. Das Auto kann im Innenhof (mit Tor) abgestellt werden. Die Vermieter: Wir haben nur Stephen kennengelernt. Er war sehr nett und hatte auch bei unserer nächtlichen Ankunft gute Laune. Sowohl bei Ankunft als auch bei der Abreise gab es keine Probleme, alles war sehr freundlich! Die Wohnung und die Vermieter sind auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen!

Guter Ausgangspunkt für Touren durch Nordirland und Donegal
Das Haus ist von außen eher unscheinbar an der Hauptstrasse gelegen, das von uns bewohnte App.53b war aber neuwertig, zwei Schlafzimmer, voll ausgestatteter Küche, alles sehr sauber und wohnlich. Die Anlage wird erst seit drei Jahren so vermietet. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und bemüht. Es gab keine Probleme. Der Ort ist selbst keine Reise wert, aber er dient sehr gut als Basis für Touren durch ganz Nordirland und auch in die Provinz Donegal. Die Infrastruktur im Ort ist gut, es gibt Supermärkte, Tankstelle, Imbisse und zumindest zwei gute Restaurants (Red Pepper, Derg Arms) sowie Pubs. Wir waren sehr zufrieden, auch mit dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis !
