I really looked forward to my overnight stay at Death Valley - I'm sorry to say but this resort pretty much ruined it for me. It all started by getting a room with a clogged toilet. The room smelled "funny" when I got there - kind of like a wet dog. After a whole day of driving I needed to use the toilet - and when I did - I found out that it doesn't drain - but fills up - can you imagine my horror - so I walk all the way to the front desk (about 8 min in 120 degrees), feeling embarrassed - and telling the front desk lady what happened. She said she would sent somebody right away to take care of it - well, I had no intention to be there while somebody is snaking the toilet - so I ended up romancing the grounds for over an hour - and then decided to go back and check my room. To my surprise, the toilet looked exactly the way I left it, plus the room was now permeated by the stink of it. So I walk again back to the front desk, asking what happened - and I'm being told something along the line that they'd been probably busy, and somebody will be there shortly. At the point I lost my patience and asked for a new room (which I should have done in the first place, or rather, I should have been offered in the first place). So after spending hours dealing with a sh***y situation, I finally moved to a new room - feeling completely exhausted...I understand that being the only place in Death Valley, you can charge a lot and provide very little - but that's not how good business works

Great location
It is conveniently located within the park and right by the Furnace Creek visitor center. It's a nice property with serveral restaurant options on site including an ice cream parlor. The layout is a bit confusing to navigate with a car and it's pretty spread out. The room was clean, but the hallway was gross and needed vacuumed at a minimum. Overall, we were happy with the accomadations since it kept us close to all of the hikes and sites we wanted to see.

Our room was showing it's age. It was clean but needed some updating on doors, walls, and entrance hallway. There were a number of places to eat. All were high for what you got but we were in Death Valley so we understand.

I’m giving 4 stars as the basic amenities in the room were missing- Kleenex, coffee cups were dirty, stirrers were missing. My toilet was broken too. When I called housekeeping, it took them all day to fix things. Food at the restaurants was ok. There are no elevators, parking gets tricky after 7:00pm.

Hotel was very convenient to Death Valley National Park and near some decent sites, with decent dining options. Bed was comfortable and bathroom updated. Pull out sofa was outdated, the WiFi service was terrible, and in room temperature control was erratic. Overall decent stay.

Everything was great, except the beds were not comfortable at all. The sofa bed mattress was too thin, making it super uncomfortable. The king bed was way too soft.
