Southern comfortable elegance with all of the charm one imagines when Charleston comes to mind. The bed was fabulous and the a/c was cool. Clean and well appointed. The bakery breakfast was also a nice addition. We had a wonderful weekend and highly recommend The Ashley. We will return for sure. 😀

Lovely Place
The room was beautiful and the decorations were tasteful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower is amazing. Unfortunately, we went on the hottest day of the year and the air conditioning was not functioning properly. It is also an attic space so keeping this area cool is probably a struggle. The manager was extremely kind and responsive and even brought us an air unit. We appreciated him trying to assist us. Overall though it was a rough time sleeping as the space is a large area to try to keep cool. The home is lovely, very clean and the breakfast and extras they offer was really exceptional. Loved having coffee on the front porch, and definitely loved our first visit to Charleston.

We really enjoyed this property. Offstreet parking. Breakfast provided every morning. Within walking distance of some excellent restaurants. The Ashley was well maintained and nicely decorated. WiFi on the top floor was a bit spotty but no big deal. Management was very responsive.

PERFECT WEEKEND STAY
"The Ashley" was the perfect choice for a quick weekend getaway and college tour. Its location was within walking distance of King St, the College of Charleston, and many amazing restaurants, making it very convenient. We enjoyed spending time on the verandah of the Ashley, and the availability of bikes and quick grab foods made our stay even more enjoyable. The common areas were stunning and had a comfortable vibe that gave off the true Charleston feel. The bed was the most comfortable one we ever slept in, and the bathroom was also stunning with a waterfall shower. Additionally, we received a text two hours before our check-in time, notifying us that our room was ready. The Ashley met all our expectations and more, and we're definitely planning to return in the future.

Perfect Weekend Get-a-Away
We stayed in on the top floor room 7, the bed was comfy, they provided a noise machine, the bathroom was amazing (beautifully redone), lovely little lounge space in the room with mini fridge and nespresso machine. The lounge/breakfast area on the first floor was very nice! It would be a nice touch to have a book shelf (book exchange) and maybe a deck of cards or chess/checkers for the nights when it was cold. The biggest con was the wifi, don't expect to stream anything on your iPad/laptop, we couldn't connect all weekend. Overall an amazing stay, wonderful location, and beautiful rooms/property! Thank you so much!

Fabulous!
This property is the best. It is so cozy & so gorgeous. It’s conveniently located too. There is a beautiful porch for morning coffee or just to relax & there’s always waters, sodas & snacks available plus we ride their bikes all over- so fun! We loved it! We visited Boone Hall Plantation, ate at Hucks & Ordinary- I recommend all that. You need to go to a plantation- just to see it & appreciate all the history (as awful as it was) beautiful trip.

Having the bikes available was a great perk! Definitely take advantage of having them -parking is expensive. Breakfast was fresh every day. Outdoor seating was nice. I really can’t say enough good things about The Ashley. We will stay here again!!

We had a great time staying in the Grimke Suite. It was very nice to have more space than just a hotel room. The price was great too! We loved Charleston and will return. Also, we used the Turo App to rent a car and it was so much better than a car rental agency.

conveniently located in town, at the top of 2.5 flights, the suite is room number 7 in a property that has been divided into studio apartments. it was clean and, with some nice touches such as the coffee machine and a fridge, comfortable. my first time booking with vrbo, i apparently missed the email containing check-in details, but when i called the host, Allie, she was most accommodating with details of the check-in process.
