A flat backyard area with fire pit and private beach is the perfect intimate setting to make unforgettable memories. Ride bikes 3 miles into downtown Charlevoix or a short car drive. Charlevoix offers fresh fish and farmers markets, downtown shopping, many upscale restaurants and free outdoor concerts at the Band Shell. Public beaches and parks on Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan. Grab some ice cream at the shop at Ferry Beach. Fisherman’s Island State Park and Lake Michigan beachfront are the favorite locations to hunt for iconic Petoskey stones. Enjoy the serene autumn foliage with lake backdrops. In the fall drive the 43 miles (about 1 hour round trip) around Lake Charlevoix to take in vibrant colors and experience how the city got the nickname Charlevoix the beautiful. See if you can find all of Earl Young designed “mushroom houses” scattered around the city. Fish off the famous Charlevoix South Pier Lighthouse and check out a gorgeous sunset over Lake Michigan. Take the ferry out of Charlevoix to explore the “Emerald Isle” Beaver Island. Hike or bike the trails of The Little Traverse Wheelway - a 26 mile paved trail with boardwalk bridging, wetland area rich in wildlife, and direct water access at several points. Skydiving is available for the thrill seekers. Check out a guided raft tour or fly fishing down the Jordan River. Kick back and relax at Northern Michigan’s renowned wineries and craft beer breweries. Don’t forget to visit historical Castle Farms right down the road. Take a self guided or tram tour of the illustrious gardens, including the railroad garden, the largest in Michigan. The public Charlevoix library is a family friendly landmark with kid activities and live music on summer Wednesdays in the garden.
Loeb Lake House comes equipped with all the essentials for a relaxing stay. Cook some S’mores at the fire pit while enjoying the beautiful stars of the Northern Michigan sky. Enjoy the lake views on provided kayaks. Propane BBQ grille, tubes for floating on the water, beach toys, beach chairs, yard games, and kid scooters. Kitchen comes fully equipped with silverware - glasses - dishes - cooking utensils- pots and pans - Coffee maker. Appliances include 2 large refrigerators -oven- stove- dishwasher- microwave- washer and dryer. -Basic starter kit supplied in house =1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom -1 roll of paper towel - hand soap for bathrooms - hair dryer - Linens + bedding provided - bath towels - beach towels - luggage racks in each room. Fire extinguisher and first aid kit. Vacuum. AC in all bed rooms. Ceiling fans in common areas. Whole house radiant heating. Culligan purified reverse osmosis water for kitchen fridge and sink. Culligan treated water system through out whole house. 6 Parking spots on site. Inquire about additional offsite parking. Check in 4 PM check out 10 AM. Outdoor security cameras are in place for safety and security purposes. They cover the perimeter of the property outside only.
Bring your own boat/jet skis or rent from many reputable marinas on the lake. Two jet ski lifts available for use on property and a mooring bouy for a boat. Paddle board rentals at Schulman Paddleworks a few miles down the road. Also there are launches within a few miles of the house and boat rentals can be delivered right to the backyard. Lake Charlevoix is a boater’s dream. Explore the over 17,000 acres of Michigan’s 3rd largest lake -56 miles of shoreline with max depth of 122 ft. Fishing, recreational boating, or just cruising the coves. Boat to the landings restaurant on the water near the house, or dock up in Charlevoix, Boyne City, or East Jordan - all easily accessible by water or land. Take your boat through Round Lake-Pine River to Lake Michigan for an unforgettable sunset cruise.
Besides all the wonders of Charlevoix, Loeb Lake House is a short drive to many gems of the area. 20 minute drive to Bay Harbor which features amazing Lake Michigan views and houses - shopping and high end luxury dining - and the #1 ranked public golf course in Michigan per Golf Digest. Avid golfers also check out these amazing courses all within driving distance - Boyne Highlands - Belvedere Golf Club - A-Ga-Ming Golf course - Boyne golf courses. 20 minutes south of Loeb Lake House lies Friske Farm. This expansive farm indulges the taste buds with you pick fruit. Play area for kids with a mega pillow, zip line, petting zoo, and rubber duck races. Drive your car on the famous Ironton Ferry to take a shortcut across the lake to Boyne City. Boyne City is full of shopping, restaurants, festivals and activities for all ages. Boyne City features Young State Park -breathtaking lake view hiking and Disc golf at Avalanche Preserve. World class skiing and snowboarding at Boyne Mountain resorts. Visit Lavender Hill Farm and Avalanche Bay indoor water park, the largest water park in Michigan. Don’t forget to trek across Sky Bridge Michigan - the world’s longest timber towered suspense bridge!
Head north of Loeb Lake House for 30 minutes to get to an up north big city vibe of Petoskey. Check out Earnest Hemmingway’s cottage on luxurious Walloon Lake. Collect some Petoskey stones on the beautiful beaches. Breweries, shopping, restaurants galore. Visit Little Traverse History Museum or test your luck at the Odawa Casino. Head a little further north to Pond Hill Farm in Harbor Springs for delectable Michigan ciders and spirits. In the autumn a drive through the famous “tunnel of trees” north of Harbor Springs for a breathtaking visible splendor of the fall colors.
