I was hesitant to book based on other people’s reviews but was happy I decided to. Our nightly stay was very affordable compared to other places in my search. The bathroom was a bit dated but very clean. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. An added plus was the hotel was dog friendly. Breakfast was a basic hotel breakfast. We did read that Lake Norman was a 15 minute walk. This is true…but not to the state park trail areas (actually a 30 minute drive). I should have checked directions beforehand. Just a heads up to anyone planning to visit the trails.

I had to change rooms as the 1st room the refrigerator and phone didn’t work. I switch my room and the refrigerator didn’t work in that room either and it had a nasty smell. I didn’t change the room again. Also the pool was closed and that was not mentioned prior to booking the room.

Front desk help acted if that is the last place she wanted to be. Many questions were barely answered and without much detail. There was a loud "pinging" noise that started around 3 am from the electrical room that we were next to. Needless to say, did not get much sleep at all due to that.
