Wonderful Experience!
Wonderful experience for our group of 5 adults. Beautiful views, great deck for morning coffee. And we were greeted by seals floating in the water near the house, in the morning. The tea drinker in the group was grateful for the teapot in the kitchen. Very responsive owner/manager. He answered questions immediately. Property is steps from an 80 acre nature preserve which we took full advantage of. Just a wonderful experience. Highly recommend. !

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay on Cheticamp island. The check-in process was seamless and Aized’s communication was excellent. The location is beautiful with great views. When the windows are open, a very nice breeze comes through the house. As others have mentioned, the house could be cleaner. It needs a thorough deep clean and better regular cleanings. Overall, the house worked well for our family and the location was excellent - a short drive into Cheticamp and up to the trails in the park!

Great location, property is tired and not very clean
Wonderful location but property is not being cared for. Sheets on the beds were stained and both showers had a build up of black mold. Furnishings are “tired” and there are no blinds on the windows in the downstairs bedroom. Wonderful area outside but there was no table and the chairs shown in the pictures were not the ones made available to us.

Adventure of a lifetime
We based out of Cheticamp for the 3rd stop of a 3 part Nova Scotia family vacation and our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer! So many beds/ bedrooms that we all had our space, and a fabulous upstairs sitting area with full windows and view of the st Lawrence and a family of seals. This room was stocked with so many fun games for the kids to play. The home was literally perfect for our unexpected rain day/ a great place to cozy up, read, and watch the sea and seals. And then for the sunny days, this home was the perfect jumping off spot for so many adventures- gravel riding right from the door, the hill behind the house for mt biking exploration, and a fun stretch of restaurants and bakeries within 10 minutes. The hikes- gypsum mines, the Cabot trail, and also whale watching, all within 10-30 minutes! Plus so much more. The porch for sunset is just the best for star gazing after a big day outside, and for breakfast the next morning. We will be back to explore more by bike and also to hike blueberry mountain. Thank you for hosting our big family of 7 in your home.

A wonderful place to have a reunion - close to the beach, hiking and the village of Cheticamp.
It gave our family a great spot to eat, visit, play board games, have a kitchen party on the deck, hike and swim.

Awesome view a! Wonderful unspoiled natural area!
We had a wonderful time. The view and the island were magnificent. We saw numerous birds, seals and dolphin. Swam at nearby beach where the kids caught and released many hermit crabs. Went to the lighthouse on island and hiked at Cape Breton National Park. Wildlife everywhere. One of the most beautiful unspoiled areas any of us had ever visited.

The view from the house was incredible and it was so quite. The deck is large, but the deck chairs should be replaced or the rust strapped and repainted. The house itself could be cleaner. The instructions about the house and the area were available and clear. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, etc. Bathrooms lacked the quantity of shampoo and conditioner and body wash that was stated in the write up. The accommodation can accomodate many people. The beds upstairs, I would not recommend for adults, it is one open area. There were games, cards, etc. The barbaque did not get hot enough and needs a cleaning. The host was gracious and accommodating. The area was very good for outdoor activities.

Beautiful Accommodations
This house is absolutely stunning. Everything you need is there. The views are awesome. The location is very close to the National Park where you can see more views. The property owners, Marianne and George have decorated their house exquisitely. They have quite a library of books available to read and an excellent deck to read them on. The entire house has windows all around. In the loft you are able to see the Milky Way and falling stars. The beds are very comfortable and all other furnishings are nice. The kitchen is large and a beautiful long table for everyone to sit around and enjoy their meals. Marianne has quite a display of dishes. We could not have asked for better accommodations anywhere. I would most definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the Cabot's Trail. Not sure our family will get out that way again, but if we do, this is the place we would stay. Thank you Marianne and George for sharing your beautiful home with our family.

Beautiful location and house with all the amenities. Perfect for large families.
The house is in wonderful location with everything you could want for a great vacation. Nothing required to bring, even the lobster pot and tools for a great dinner. The deck is large and welcoming and a great place to watch the ocean waves and the stars. There is even a secluded beach that is a close walk to the property. The upstairs is beautiful with an awesome view although can get a bit hot and stuffy in the summer and no shower upstairs but a bathroom and a sink. A well located, well kept, and well equipped house for a special vacation.

Great location. Beautiful sunrise. Beautiful sunsets at top of hill. We saw seals and frequently eagles. Only issue was with shower pressure I informed owner sure she will take care of it. The owner Marianne is a gem. We spoke a lot . She is better off without going through vrbo.

Beautiful simply beautiful!
When we first drove up to the property, my first thought was how can the nine of us sleep in this house? The outside is very deceiving. It seemed a bit small to us. Then we walked in and were so pleasantly surprised. It was a spacious, beautifully appointed home with unbelievable views. It was stunning. So happy that we found this treasure for our time in Cheticamp. And last but not least, the owner was very kind and helpful in our conversations. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Fantastic location/ wonderful house/ great hosts!
This house is wonderful! The location is so beautiful and peaceful. There was a trail to explore right from the house and we picked wild blackberries and raspberries. We were 6 total (four adults and two kids) and the house was perfect. Everything was beautifully set up with a well equipped kitchen, convenient bedrooms (2 on the ground floor), and lots of light and air. The porch is so great to relax, take in the sea air and, view birds (sea gulls, crows, cormorants, eagles, herons, and kingfishers by my recollection). The location is also very close to the national park, which we visited daily. Also, there was a booklet in the house that had a lot of useful information. Marianne was wonderful in answering my questions even before we arrived. We want to thank Marianne and George for helping make our Nova Scotia vacation such a wonderful experience!

A perfect property for a relax vacation
This property is a perfect: both inside and outside environment. We are families with kids - the kitchen, the bathroom and upstairs' living room give everyone a neat space. Everything are there when you needed. And the beach, the dock, the trails nearby are very close and peaceful to let you enjoy sunrise, sunset, fishing etc. The location is not far from the Cape Breton national park, you can easily drive to the skyline trail, the pleasant bay. Anyway, everyone of our group, from young to teen to adults enjoyed this house. Thank you Marianne!

A great week. Sad it's over.
The house was everything we hoped for. Great location, scenic views. Saw bald eagles fly right past the deck twice. Enjoyed Cheticamp Island. Only one very minor complaint. Invest in a new coffee maker. The one you have takes about 35 minutes to brew a pot of coffeee. We had a great week. Thanks

The home and setting were even more beautiful than presented in the pictures.
Our family had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. The setting on the water was so relaxing. The spacious house easily accommodated our two sons, their wives and our two young grandchildren (6 adults and 2 children). We enjoyed dinner on the deck each night and walking the nearby trails at sunrise and sunset. The children enjoyed playing in the sand at the nearby beach. We stayed August 6 to August 13 The Damseaux Family
