It's located in the perfect location downtown. Complimentary breakfast was included, which was a plus since it was actual food and not little breakfast snacks. The room was nice and big. We had gotten a suite with a city view.

Nice hotel unless theres a problem. We had a few problems right away that maintenance needed to be called in for, which is annoying but it is what it is. But then one night around 9PM the room filled with the smell of drugs. Marijuana smoke was coming into our room and we had to wake the baby and go to the front desk where they gave us another room. That wasn't a small thing, our kid was inhaling drugs. Another room was the least they could do, I had to pack up and leave at night. What did the hotel do? Nothing because they said it was prepaid. They waived the early check-in fee which they shouldnt have charged anyways (we checked in at 2:30) which is trivial for the problem we had. Then they offered us some Hilton points (a tiny amount) which since Im not going for the Hilton high score is useless to me. To make matters worse we needed maintenance again to fix the lights before we could go back to sleep. The evening happy hour was fun and the breakfast was great but that sullied our trip. I don't whine, I don't complain but I draw the line when my kid is inhaling drugs on the premises. The hotel had the opportunity to make things right but they didn't.

Mixed thoughts about this hotel…I reserved three rooms for one night. PROS: price, location, overall hotel accommodations. The made to order omelette bar was great (rest of breakfast was not.) Two free drinks and snacks at happy hour. Spacious rooms. Bell hop (luggage storage) was extremely friendly. CONS: customer service was absolutely horrible. 2 out of 5 different receptionists I interacted with were extremely rude. They never had more than 2 people at the desk, usually it was one. Line was very long at all times. I tried calling the front desk multiple times and phone NEVER got answered. My son called for extra towels (three bath towels in each room even though we have four people staying.) they said they would bring them. They never did. He went to the lobby desk to ask for one (he’s 15 and very polite) and they would not give him one and said if he called they would be delivered. They weren’t. When I checked in I double checked they gave us two kings and one double. We went to our rooms and they were all doubles! I went back down to the desk and had to wait 20 more minutes in line to get the correct rooms. They “upgraded” our room to the 11th floor but it was exactly the same. No ice machine of floor 11. The view was comical- do not spend extra money for city view! Air in rooms is extremely dry. Heat never stopped running but was cold in our room. Pool was cold. Early check in charge is $75 if you want to get in before 3:30.

Unfortunately the hotel was in attendance of MANY unsupervised children young and teenagers who were consistently overcrowding the lobby and running ALL OVER the floors. Many of them playing knock and ditch, leading me to make 2 trips to the front desk for security to do something at 11pm! The pool was being used as a bday party with well over 30 people in the pool many children WITH NO parent in sight but coming in randomly to check in on them. Loud screaming throughout the entire establishment. The rooms normally very clean but this round there was popcorn on the couch cushion, a dirty toilet with bathroom residue, and hair on the bathroom shower floor. You would assume for such a beautiful facility and high clientele the hotel would make sure children are accompanied by adults and not let to check and leave children to act like toddlers in a park.

The Embassy had everything that we needed and also offered additional services, that were unexpected! Our room was spacious, had a Fantastic view of the city, the staff was helpful and very nice, the Happy Hour was delightful, the washer and dryer was FREE and the valet parking was convenient and easily accessible!! We will DEFINITELY visit this location again, when we're in Chicago!
