The Hilton Chicago/Magnificent Miles Suites was a hit for my solo trip! The staff were very attentive and accommodating, especially when I was double charged due to an a mix up with double booking the exact same room through Expedia who still charged me half the price for a booking I thought was void. When I tried to explain to the customer representative he didn’t really care to hear what I had to say. So, make sure you don’t run into the same problem.

first time chicago visitors
this hotel has the best location. i was near most attraction but very near to shopping, which was bad for someone who likes to shop. i hate the pay-per-night car parking but i guess the city has to make money some how. we called twice about getting plates and silverware but it finally came. the sink in our bathroom dripped not bad for us but water wasting for the environment. my room had a good view of city. the breakfast is not worth the $20/person. its the same breakfast La Quinta gives for free so i only ate once. Kudos to housekeeping, they keep that place clean and smelling good. front desk staff are super friendly and give out bottles of water generously.

There were ton of guests staying at the hotel who were running the Chicago marathon yet the staff had no idea on where the start line for the marathon was or what direction one should generally go towards to get to the marathon. Given that it is a major world event that drew the guests to the hotel, it would be nice if the staff prepared in advance to provide some advice on general mode of transportation to get to the start. (Ex. go south on Michigan ave. Or look at Chicago transportation app, or take a cab here)
