Residence on the Avenue. A Spacious Vintage condo in a stunning 1928 Art Deco building on a tree lined avenue. We are a fully licensed vacation rental #2087704 and 1 of only 73 licensed vacation condos in Chicago! We are celebrating our 21st year of hosting and our 15th year hosting our Chicago condos. A very quiet and secure 4 unit building with front lobby entrance. Property manager on site to answer any questions and to make sure that your stay at Residence on the Avenue is a wonderful experience. Open floor plan with spacious gourmet kitchen/dining area over looking the living room with fire place. Custom cabinets, granite counter tops and Jenn Aire Stainless Steel appliances. Great for entertaining. This spacious condo has 9 ft. ceilings. All hard wood floors. Private garden with its own seating area. Free inter net & long distance phone service included. Large bathrooms. One with whirlpool/shower,the other with large walk in shower. Italian tile heated floors. The bedrooms and main bath are located down a seperate hallway. Bedroom one has a French four poster queen size bed. Bedroom two has a Victorian antique full sized bed and walk in closet. All linens are 400 thread count or greater to insure a comfortabele sleep. Our condos are maintained at the highest level to insure a healthy environment. We are a Green building with high effeciency systems.

On the Evanston Border, only 1 mile from the quaint downtown, home to great shops, restaurants and of course Northwestern University. Loyola University is also really close to Residence on the Avenue. This would make a perfect place to call home for all Northwestern & Loyala games and events. Also while visiting your child who are attending one of these great schools.
Walking distance to the Red Line as well as bus service. Quick access to Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park Zoo and the Magnificent Mile. You can reach the city center with in 20 minute. This is truly a great place to call home while exploring all the wonderful things that Chicago and Evanston have to offer. Wrigley Field home to the World Series Championship Cubs is just 15 minutes from our location!

My sister and I had the garden apartment which is sort of like a basement apartment. I didn’t realize that’s what we would get originally, but it was best for us since we are in our 70s and had to carry our own luggage.

Really nice spacious place... Clean and in quiet neighbourhood... Easy access to all points of Chicago. Large bedrooms, and extra inflatable double bed was really handy for young child. Would definitely return here for our next trip to Chicago visit.

Beautiful property but we had a few issues
Good: Communication with owner was easy, detailed, & responsive. Super nice person. Property was very clean on arrival w/ plenty of supplies. Comes with 1 garage parking spot (very small). Departure was very easy. Bad: Property manager could be called abrupt, rude, & inappropriate. Hoping he was just having a bad week. Two major issues. Night of my son’s formal graduation party (we were co-hosting); very reason we were in Chicago renting VRBO, the drains clogged & toilets would not flush. Property manager didn’t respond until we reached out to owner directly. Property manager arrived very agitated, stating that drain pump only clogs when woman put “personal products” into toilets. I explained to him that all woman staying at house were past the age where they would use those products. When I walked away, he reiterated to my sister & then a third time to my wife, “one of the woman must have put personal products in the toilets”, “woman use these personal products for incontinence too”. Simply unbelievable! We were unable to fully get ready for my son’s event as plumber shut off water w/ no estimated time for repair. Unfortunately, 2 days later we were w/out hot water. When property manager arrived, again agitated, he said to my family “this has never happened in 17 years” as if we purposely blew out gas water heater’s pilot light. Why would we ever want to be w/out hot water? Totally ridiculous! With help of neighbor, he relit pilot & we had hot water next day.

Perfect Chicago stay
This is a perfect place to stay for a visit to Chicago. The neighborhood is quiet, walkable, and close to both downtown and the suburbs. The host is friendly, easy to communicate with, and shared information about getting around the city, as well as restaurant recommendations. The unit is very clean, quiet, and easy to be in. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of soft towels, which you don’t always get with a rental. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware, although no spices except for salt and pepper, which was fine by us, but BYO spices if you’re planning something specific. Having a washer and dryer was a plus and there’s a garage spot in the back that fits a small SUV, which was helpful when dealing with city street parking. Hope to stay again on our next trip to Chicago!

Spacious and spotless condo to spread out and relax!
This is a fantastic location just outside of the city on a quiet street but close to everything. The Property Manager (Ross) is fantastic with communication and even after our flight was delayed three times, he met us at the door, gave us a thorough tour of where everything is located, and some great tips on where to eat. It's a $20 UBER to the heart of the city (Millenium Park) and the place is spotless! Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to hang your hat for a few days!
