Poor check in, couldn't find our booking then overcharged us (which was corrected) but this left us waiting in reception with two young children’s fb bags for 15minutes, beds were extremely well used and uncomfortable. Online it states EV chargers which was the main reason we booked but they were “being replaced” and you have to pay extra for car parking

Building and rooms a little tired. No air conditioning and when asked receiption about the loud banging noise in the air circulation unit was just told to turn it off! Room didn’t have the water that should have been provided as part of the room, however when questioned this was provided without question. Cleaner never came but again reception sorted for us. All in all, the staff we spoke to on reception, the pool and breakfast room were all excellent and extremely helpful. This made the difference, along with the parking facilities and close proximity to York centre.

Excellent hotel for families.
Lovely stay as a family of 4, large room, fabulous facilities and a wonderful breakfast which everyone enjoyed. 20 minutes straight road walk in to York and the kids loved the garden in the evening whilst we could sit on the terrace.

Overall good stay; I ticked the box at reception for the daily cleaning; later found out that the cleaner took our hand-cleaning soap and not replaced by another one. This led to a bit of inconvenience. As there was only another night stay after that, I didn’t report to anyone.

I enjoyed our stay, couple of issues needed to be addressed, had problems with floor lamps in our room but managed to resolve ourselves, we reported that our wardrobe had only one sliding door instead of two, but action was taken, otherwise the general stay was good.

Horrendous. Dark room with no AC - called reception only to be told the AC is ‘hotel- wide’ so all rooms are centrally controlled not individually? Never heard of such a thing. Reception offered us the choice to take another room - still no AC obviously but at least it was a brighter room. Unfortunately this room was above the entrance which meant when the party / bar downstairs emptied out they were all right outside screaming for over two hours. Called to complain at 1.45am and the noise eventually died down around 3am. The closed windows didnt stop any of the noise, we actually thought the window was still open from earlier but it wasn’t. The doors aren’t any better - listening to people outside at 5.30am chatting away like they were in the same room! Obviously no sleep at all. My only compliment is that the bed was comfy- but that’s no good if it’s in a railway station !! So - paper thin walls and windows and no AC - not what I expected or paid for.

We arrived early and was welcomed beautifully by a gentleman (sorry I can't remember your name but he was Spanish). We were allowed to check in early and found the room to be so spacious, clean & smelt lovely. We used the swimming facilities which again where clean & tidy, also welcomed in by the young gentleman in the wellness centre who was very informative. On checkout (again same gentleman on check in) was so lovely and friendly. Would recommend this beautiful hotel and fantastic friendly team. We will be back again!
