Perfect retreat and AMAZING Host!
This cabin is incredible! Very private, lots of property to explore with your own creek, and everything you would need (except food) to escape for a week or two. Love the little touches like matching bear dishes and towels, and the big things like heated bathroom floor and new shower! Mary, the host, was very generous, accommodating, and a quick communicator. She understands people come here to relax and for privacy. We had a slight hiccup where a tree took out the power to the cabin, but Mary kept us informed every step of the way and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The property is very clean and the area is very quiet, with a few cars passing on the road each day. Lots of good things at this cabin like games and puzzles, fully functional kitchen, washer/dryer, lots of firewood, soothing creek sounds, bear statue, big dining room table, and privacy! Our two dogs had nothing to bark about it was so quiet, they were super relaxed and had lots to smell and explore outside. We look forward to another visit to the cabin!

Comfortable stay by the river
First, the house has everything what you would need to feel fully comfortable.Pretty spacious,as it has a kitchen with gas oven and all essential appliances ,dining room with big table for 6 persons ,living room with sofa, loveseat, chair and flat screen tv,master bedroom with closet,2 nice rooms on the attic level , fully renovated bathroom ( shower cabin with sliding doors, air and floor heaters, good lighting),laundry room with washer and dryer.WiFi with hi speed internet, gas heater with nest thermostat ,in windows- AC. Second-spacious backyard with gas grill, wood table and 2 chairs, and even wood swing bench to relax observing nearby river side.Stone steps and path with solar lights to the huge stony area by the trout river, surrounded by native forest where you can completely get relaxed by its stream , bonfire at night.. On the top of that , the host of this beautiful place is very communicative ,fair and polite. We enjoyed very much by staying in such amazing place( even though we had hit a drought season with shallow water and absence of fish). Some day will come back here again..

Lovely location, but strange odors inside
The location was perfect, and we enjoyed sitting on the porch and exploring the stream. But maybe our expectations were too high based on others reviews. When we arrived, we opened the front door and immediately were met with an odd musty smell. And the laundry also had a strong unpleasant odor. The bathroom was nicely updated, but the kitchen cabinets need something as they also had a musty smell. The back patio is lovely but could use a few new chairs to make it more usable for a family. Also, one of the bedrooms upstairs was not usable due to it being too hot (a/c unit in the room next to it was not effective at cooling it).

A Catskill Mountain getaway for all seasons. My Family are regular guests to the Cabin. The setting is awesome & my kids love it. One of our favorite places to visit & lots of good hiking trails in the area. Every description you read about it on the profile page is 100% accurate. The place is always clean & has everything you need for your stay. Finally, Mary Plank is a great host who is very good at communicating with you when need to reach out to her, including Mary's weather updates to coyote sightings. Thanks again & we will be back soon. Brian

Delightful vacation home!
We truly enjoyed our 4th of July stay at this lovely cottage! Surrounded by quiet nature and a lovely stream. The cottage was comfortable and we slept like babies. We explored the area during the mornings and sat on the porch relaxing each afternoon reading and hand sewing. Saw 9 deer in 5 days just from the porch! We will definitely love to stay here again if we ever find ourselves in the Catskills area again! Mary was very nice and checked in to make sure we were happy. Terrie and Larry

Just Perfect!
Mary's cabin is the quintessential Catskills cabin. The cabin is wonderful from the gorgeous river rock fireplace to the newly renovated bathroom with heated floors! It is so peaceful and the walkway to the river is just beautiful. The bed is comfy, the kitchen well stocked and did I mention the heated floor in the bathroom? LOL This is the perfect place to get away and reconnect. Mary is a thoughtful host.

What a wonderful little getaway
We loved everything about our stay. The days leading up to the trip we received plenty of communication so we knew exactly what to expect when we arrived. The cabin was clean and well stocked. It rained for most of our trip, but we enjoyed drinking our coffee on the covered porch, sitting by the fire and playing board games with our kids. The property was beautiful and very peaceful. We are already looking at dates to return for our next unplugged weekend. Thank you to Mary for being an amazing host, we will definitely be back.
