The staff is exceptionally warm and welcoming. The lobby is like a living room away from home. The room was bright and cheerful. We had an issue with our air conditioner and the engineer arrived within minutes of our call. Great location -- we enjoyed being so close to the park.

I have had the opportunity to stay in a few different hotels in this area of NYC and this one is on the top of the list. So close to Central Park,tons of restaurants and shopping. Felt very safe walking around, even at night. Would come back for sure

Charming hotel on the UWS and conveniently located near wonderful restaurants, CentralPark and convenient subway stations. Staff was very nice, rooms were clean. Biggest complaint is the rooms could use updating. Mini fridge would have been great. Bathroom needs to be updated. Ice machine was broken, air conditioner was inconsistent. A great property that would be perfect with some updates.

Size of hotel and lobby was smaller than i expected, but i understand. It’s located in the middle of manhattan. Outlook of hotel is beautiful, but inside looks too old. Staff members were nice and food in the hotel restaurant, Nice Matin, was excellent.

There's nothing I didn't like about this hotel! Staff was so pleasant and helpful. Hotel was clean, my room was comfortable and kept nice when I stepped out. The restaurant was an outstanding place to sit outside on the sidewalk to people watch and enjoy a nice cocktail. I would recommend the Lucerne and hope to come back again myself in the near future. FIVE STARS!

We had a great experience until my daughter got sick and we had to leave a day early. The Lucerne staff would not refund our last nights stay even though I talked to them about our pending departure a day early and checked out at 1pm the day before our original check out date. The staff responded that they were sending the cleaning staff in immediately. I’d be surprised if they weren’t able to sell that room for the night. The hotel was very busy due to summer travelers.

Meh. A little better than a 3 star facility, 4 is too high. Very expensive for “what you get”. Clearly it benefits from their not being many hotel choices in the area; dated room, infuriating television service, nonsensical (and loud) air conditioning system, no in room amenities - and plastic water cups in the bathroom (think Motel 6). Bed was comfy with decent pillows tho.

Two days at The Lucern
The staff were cery nice, the rooms were clean, and the views were great. There wasn't a fridge or microwave in the room, so that was a little disappointing. Also, there was only one ice machine for the whole building, and it absolute could not keep up with demand. Great location ,though, as access to the 1 subway is a block away, and central park is so close! I would probably stay again (especially if they put a fridge and microwave in each room)! I would have loved to, but we never did eat at the Nice Matin restaurant because those prices are crazy!
