Horrible
No heating on the main level of the home. There is a heater still connected to electricity that showed burn marks on the wall and a sign says “burned out Oct 2023” When I contacted Vacasa they said, “heating wasn’t listed as an amenity” . Which isn’t true. Tap water was yellow. Living room furniture is very dirty and worn. You could feel the springs poking you. Tile grout in the kitchen has mildew. Disconnected smoke detectors. Yes the view was pretty. But the experience was poor. Vacasa has responded to prior reviews, like this one. And prior reviews list the same issues. They are not addressing the issues, just say “sorry”

I was appalled at the cleanliness and safety in the house on the hill. Dead bugs everywhere and live ones all over too. Lake house was not as dirty but did smell bad inside. Will not be going back.

Two Lakefront Homes - not worth the money
I had a lovely vacation with my family and will never let accommodation ruin my trip, I knew that the place was not luxurious in any way, BUT it was filthy and so very run down that I cannot in good conscience leave a favorable review. I cannot imagine why any reputable rental company would continue listing this as a possible destination. Someone from your company needs to take a trip here and look at the value your customers are getting for their money. The furniture is old and broken and filthy and screens don’t fit on windows so bugs are getting in. There is a tile countertop in the kitchen with grout that is so old and filthy that I was afraid to put anything down on it. The only good thing I can say about this rental is that the lake is gorgeous and the scenery amazing. The houses need so much work just to get them up to an acceptable standard and the cleaning staff needs to be fired.

Cute place for family
Very pretty location. Quiet and private. I thought both houses were very cute and had all the basic needs. The hot tub and canoe was a hit for the family. The place was pet friendly and I feel like that always comes with a little cleanliness compromise, but it was not dirty, just a little worn. The downstairs boathouse bathroom toilet and upstairs dryer needs attention. I didn’t not enjoy being required to take the trash to the dump, I definitely feel like we paid well enough for that to be covered and it was not in the website description. Overall though, I thought it was a family friendly property and feel blessed to be able to hang out with family there. Thank you!

Great location, property needs some TLC
The location of the property is great - it has a beautiful view of the lake, is private and quiet. The downside was that both of the houses are run-down, poorly appointed and they both need alot of deferred maintenance. The furniture was dated and dirty, the main living floor was scuffed & dirty, the tile counters in the kitchen had mildew in the grout, there was mildew & tiles missing in showers, the heater in the main living area didn't work, there was water damage & falling drywall in the ceiling of the lower kitchen, the smoke detectors were missing or didnt have batteries, the hot tub was crawling with ants and there was trash and debris around the property - just to name a few things...

Enjoyed the view and the joy of the Lake
We enjoyed our stay, loved having the 2 houses and that we were able to bring our dogs. This was our first family vacation In years and we were so thankful to do it here, with the beauty and the joy of the lake. We rented jet skis for 2 full days, it was a joy to have the lake house. Things I would be aware of: 1)we had to wash bedding from the top bunk before sleeping. 2) we had to clean the stove before cooking 3) we cleaned the back patio by the hot tub because we spent most the time out there In the lake house: 1) the coffee pot has the wrong glass-craft and so coffee will run out if not fixed 2) the lights do not work up stairs in the game area and the bedroom 3) the bed was uncomfortable

Lake House
We enjoyed access to the lake and having a separate house for the teenagers was worth some of the less desirable qualities of the property which is definitely somewhat run-down and tired, but functional. I'd come back just for the 2nd house to give the teenagers their space. The hot tub took some work, but after adding appropriate chemicals (purchased in town since the on-site chem bottles were empty) and running the filter for several hours, it was a very nice addition to the evening routine. The evening serenity of the lake was interrupted my the truckers riding their compression brakes down the hill across the water. Certainly, not the fault of the property owners, but something to know about. The access road is somewhat steep and unpaved, but wasn't an issue.

Good location, bad access, house needs repairs
We spent a fun weekend with family at this house. Not sure it was worth the price. The lower house was very nice with comfortable furniture. The good- 1. Lake location: having 2 houses was a big plus in that you get the lake-level view and a wider view from the upper house. Great views and the convenience of being on the lake for boating and swimming. 2. Hot tub: probably the highlight of the property. Great view from the hot tub at the upper house. 3. Upper house deck: great BBQ grill and tables. 4. Washer and dryer worked great and having a tankless water heater meant no running out of hot water while the washer and shower are running simultaneously. The not-so-good- 1. The access road is a VERY NARROW and VERY STEEP single-lane dirt/gravel road with only a couple of wide spots for passing oncoming cars. Very sketchy at night and in the rain. And there isn't a lot of room to turn around in the driveway (think 10-point U-turn). 2. The upper house furniture was terrible. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The kitchen chairs are falling apart. The living room couches and chairs are old and broken down. Big contrast to the nice furniture in the lower house, but... 3. The lower house is a 2-story floating house, which means there is a lot of wave action in the house, especially on the 2nd floor. Most of our party was unable to be in the house or on the deck for more than a couple of minutes before being affected by motion sickness. Will not be renting again.

Overall it was a great experience! Access road a little rough once you went through the gate. A lot of stuff laying around outside the upper house like it was a work in progress project especially by the lower level entrance. Otherwise a nice place to stay, good supply of kitchen utensils etc., ample supply of towels and bedding etc. Would consider staying there again.

Great vacation house but be open-minded
This house was great for our large family get-together. We made countless memories and it had many opportunities for fun. We were easily able to dock our boat. The pros: -Size of the houses -a closet full of clean folded sheets and blankets -bbq ready with propane -fire wood on site for use -clean kitchen and a lot of utensils and cooking supplies -good wifi -pets allowed -driveway would easily fit a fourth car despite the listing allowance. Something for VACASA to consider. -most beds were very comfortable -T.V. was added, but we didn't end up using it:) - Hot tub was up and running (but was dirty and didn't smell any chemicals like normal so unsure of that) -Prior to our stay, vacasa was quick to respond to inquiries through the VRBO app The Cons -electrical setup in one of the kitchen cabinets had an unsafe setup. -this is important: the shower only lasted for 1 person. We had 10. So 9 people either had dripping water to bathe themselves for 5 days, or no water at all. This also meant the inability basically to do laundry. So having a washer and dryer didn't matter. No water would come out of the sink to wash our hands after using the restroom. -foul smell in the boathouse and water from the sewage system setup. Not sure if this is normal. -The step from the dock to the boathouse is unsafe. It needs a bridge system of some sort -steps are steep be ready for a cardio workout -couch felt dirty. It needs upholstery cleaning -Dead bugs in ALL the window seals. These looked to be old not new so even though many have made this comment here, it still has not been cleaned. -Wasn't aware there was a gate code and it was very hidden in the instructions from VACASA. This caused two cars to wait for almost a half hour while we tried to figure this out. I texted the phone number that was given to me on a pamphlet in the house, but no one ever responded to this. I also tried calling. Eventually another home owner saw them and let them in. I did finally find the code on the app -No A.C. that we could tell. This might matter for some -several broken outdoor chairs

A great experience
This house is a gem! However, you need to be ok with little critters, after all it is in the woods.. also, this is not a luxury stay, which worked out for us as we wanted the experience of being in the woods. Be aware that the dirt road is very narrow and in a cliff and if you are afraid of heights this is not the house for you… we would however gladly stay here again!

Extremely disappointed
When we arrived , we were surprised at how extremely unclean both houses were !! The condition of both homes need a lot of work ! Extremely dangerous pathway down to the lake house at least 80 feet of very steep and unsafe stairs ! The beds were cheep and we did not sleep well the sheets were dirty we had to find clean sheets . We had not one place where we could hang our clothing . The kitchen was not clean dirty cook top and the oven was gross ! It’s was extremely uncontrollable and we wanted to leave after seeing the state of the house ! We were paying hundreds of dollars a night and I called “Vassca “ 3 times asking for a refund so we could leave and they offered us a cleaning fee back and did not have anyone come to clean . We stayed for 3 days I had to put sheets over all the furniture to feel somewhat comfortable! Also across the lakeside was the highway so the noise took away from the lake !! This was my first time useing VRBO and most likely my last time !!! So Extremely disappointed!!!

Location was ideal - the home itself not in the best shape.
Location of the property was ideal for our stay. The online pictures shown of the house did not show the true condition of the home. The home was not in the best condition nor was it cleaned very well. Sighting and evidence of a mouse in the house was acknowledged but not responded to. A portion of the stairs down to the floating house are in the process of being replaced, which is good, but the lighting down the stairs was not in working order making it a scary/dangerous descent at night.

Unfortunate. The setting is beautiful, the property is dirty, not well maintained, unsanitary and unsafe. Broken patio furniture, dead flies and dirt in all of the window sliders, peeling paint, evidence of water damage on ceilings, torn screens and an untenable trek to the waterfront.

Seems like a good idea....
We booked on vrbo and saw lake front at a reasonable price and went for it! We arrived and after a recent snow storm to find the the road VERY steep and VERY slippery. But fortunately anti lock brakes kicked in and got us safety to the vacation retreat right around 4pm. We entered the house to find it very cold. We searched for the heat source immediately. (It was 4 hours later that the house finally found a normal temperature). We found that the upper house is heated with wall heaters that were not up to the task of warming the house under the cold conditions that we arrived under. We found a very pieces of wood and a were able to get the fire place going... although it is clear that the fire place does not have a proper length of chimney pipe to create the necessary air flow and it is very easy to smoke the house out. But hey, we are on vacation, so we were ready to have some fun! We found the hot tub! It was definitely the high point of our experience. After the hot tub the kids were anxious to see the floating house... We tried to navigate the steps only to find an inch of hard packed ice covering the path. We slipped all the way down it was quite the experience. We opened up this house to find it equally cold. we turned up th base board heat to see if it would heat up. (The down stairs never came above 50 degrees. The upstairs did heat up nicely. At this point we called Vacasa about the heat issue, they indicated a runner would come with additional heaters or fire wood. (They never showed). Sooo long story short we had a couple great days of adventure enjoying the area, but the house... The house overall was a mess! It is dirty, there are lots of bugs, there is very little in the house to make it comfortable. The beds are cheap, the furniture is cheap, everything was built or bought cheap, so if you are used to nice things, this place is not for you.... The main house has a 3 beds and 1 and 1/2 baths. It was really the only usable space for us. The floors were unfinished! It was cold concrete and upstairs had tongue and groove siding... please repeat after me. TONGUE AND GROOVE SIDING IS NOT FLOORING. not only does it trap dirt and is it impossible to clean it creaks every step. The stove desperately needs to be deep cleaned. Every exterior door needs to have the seals redone.... So if you are a group of colleges students looking for a place to have a raging party, this is your spot. if you are a family looking for a sweet vacation spot,

Filthy, dangerous homes
Do not stay here. We are well-travelled, professional adults traveling for a family wedding and have never rented a home so gross and unsafe. The homes have clearly never been deep cleaned and had some serious safety issues. Despite notifying the property manager immediately upon our arrival, nothing was done. The oven was thick with burned on food. There was a long black hair in the sheets. Two of the beds in the upper home were only be partially made. The main bath door has a huge black mark running across it. All walls, doors, lights, floor boards were covered with thick black cobwebs complete with dead bugs and spiders. The wood stove was covered in dust, dirt and debris. The dishes were greasy (visible and by feel) when I pulled them out of the cupboards as were the utensils so I rewashed everything that we used. The utensil holder was so grungy I had to lay paper towels in it in order to put the utensils back in it. Our feet were black after walking on the floor barefoot. None of the patios were swept as evidenced by the debris, bottle caps, and sunflower seed shells left by a previous tenant. There was a big black blob of something on the wall next to the quilt wall hanging that was very obvious and should have been cleaned up. We wiped that up ourselves rather than look at it. The view was obscured by dirt, bird feathers and poop on the windows. The hot tub was ice cold upon our arrival. Maintenance arrived several hours into our stay and got it working but then when we went to get in it (24 hours later when it was finally warm) it was dirty with grit and and debris which we did our best to scoop out. It also stopped working again later and we had to figure out how to get it going ourselves as apparently maintenance is unavailable on the weekends. The patio railing on the upper patio was dangerously loose and had someone leaned on it they would have broken through and fallen. The patio furniture on the upper level was so old the springs were sagging and broken and the pads were torn and moldy. The lower home lacked electricity and heat on the lower level. The lights on the stairs to the lower home did not work. The swim ladder was missing two rungs. I could go on. Nothing is as advertised here. Overall, this was a filthy, uncomfortable, dangerous house and management did nothing to resolve the issues. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here and never rent a home associated with VACASA.
