Santa Cruz is a historic and culturally significant neighbourhood in the heart of Coimbra, one of Portugal's oldest and most renowned cities.

The Santa Cruz Monastery is one of Coimbra's most important landmarks. Founded in 1131, it is a prime example of Romanesque and Manueline architecture. The monastery houses the tombs of the first two kings of Portugal, Afonso I (Afonso Henriques) and his son, Sancho I. This makes it a site of great national importance.

Adjacent to the monastery, the church of Santa Cruz is a stunning example of Portuguese Gothic architecture with intricate carvings and a beautiful interior that attracts many visitors. The church features a serene cloister, known as the Cloister of Silence, which is a peaceful spot for reflection and one of the key attractions within the church complex.

Santa Cruz is located close to the University of Coimbra, one of the oldest universities in the world. The university’s historical buildings, including the Joanina Library and the University Tower, are within walking distance.

El piso es muy bonito y con todo lo necesario para una estancia muy cómoda, luminoso y agradable, nuestra estancia fue en invierno y es muy fácil de calefaccionar. Muy cómodo el parking, subterráneo y cercano. Lo que es mejorable es la limpieza del piso, las fundas de las almohadas tenían pelos, la pared vertical de la mesada de la cocina limpiada sin profundidad, la terraza con telas de araña. También detectamos algunos insectos y alguna cucaracha pequeña, se debería exigir profundidad en la limpieza y desinfección. Lamentable la presencia y limpieza de las zonas comunes del edificio es terrible, un olor rancio y desagradable inunda cuando accedes al edificio, falta de limpieza y ventilación eficiente. Algo parecido sucede dentro del piso, de alguna forma los olores de cocinas de los vecinos entran en el tuyo y por esa razón hemos dejado el extractor de la cocina constantemente encendido. La forma de entrega de las llaves presentan gran dificultad, existe un dispensador de llaves escondido que es muy difícil de abrir porque no se ven los números y tus manos no tienen casi acceso a él para manipularlo y abrir fácilmente. Espero que estas observaciones sirvan para mejorar.
