Located in the peaceful surroundings of Winnows Hill Farm in the village of Ruffside, in County Durham, Cote is a characterful two-story cottage with plenty of charm. Just a short drive from the vibrant town of Consett and a number of beautiful walking routes, you’ll have everything you could need to enjoy a peaceful getaway in the North East. Sleeping up to four guests, Cote is perfect for family holidays and couples retreats.
The Space:
Cote has high ceilings and original features so you’ll find plenty of character and charm throughout. The cottage benefits from a spacious living room with exposed beams, comfy sofas and a flat screen TV. Ideal for relaxing, you can get lost in a good book or snuggle up with your loved ones and watch your favourite shows.
Sharing the space is the kitchen diner which features sage green cupboards and black worktops. You’ll have everything you could need to make home cooked meals during your stay as the kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and cookware.
The dining area has a breakfast bar style table and four bar stools to ensure all guests are catered for.
Cote has two bedrooms, one on the ground floor and another on the first floor. Both bedrooms are cosy spaces and boast ample storage space, bedside table and lamps, and double beds with plush white bedding.
The family bathroom can be found on the ground floor and is complete with a spacious shower, WC and wash basin.
Outside you’ll find a communal grassed area and a courtyard with outdoor furniture. A real bonus, the outdoor space at Winnows Hill Farm is fantastic if you want to relax outside during your visit.

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Private on-site parking is available for up to two vehicles.
Group bookings are not permitted at Winnows Hill Farm.

The closest town to Ruffside is Consett which is a vibrant town in North West Durham. The Coast to Coast cycle route passes through Consett and is known as the UK’s most popular long-distance cycle route. If you’d prefer a more relaxed visit, you can explore The Glass and Art Gallery, Derwent Reservoir and many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.
Getting Around:
The closest train station to Ruffside is Stocksfield which is a 20 minute drive away. Stocksfield is a small yet sprawling commuter village which is served by the Tyne Valley Line, with trains running to Newcastle, Hexham and Carlisle. A number of connecting routes can also be found from these stations so getting to other locations around the UK could not be easier.
The 773 bus route travels through to Consett from Ruffside.
