Nomadic Dreams in a Chic Yurt, McElmo Canyon

Backdropped by stunning sandstone canyons, this modern boho yurt transports you to a world of ranches, vineyards, archaeological sites, and wildlife galore. From here, launch an epic outdoor adventure or reconnect with loved ones in a peaceful, unique setting that will make you want to return time and again. Gaze at a perfect star filled sky with virtually zero light pollution and get up close to ancient Pueblo dwellings and towers. The discoveries here are endless!

You will be surrounded by beauty and peace on this 58-acre property nestled at the base of Sleeping Ute Mountain and between magical McElmo Canyon's sandstone walls.

The spacious yurt's circular shape is simultaneously inviting, centering, and energizing.

You will love watching the stars through the clear skylight dome.

Boasting a full kitchen and bathroom, hot water, and mini-split heating/cooling system, you won't miss a single comfort.

One queen bed is downstairs, and one is up in the loft along with a twin bed. The sofa also folds back into a single bed.

In the winter, the giant wood-burning fireplace will have everyone gathered around telling stories.

The yurt's yard is perfect for games, and the porch is equipped with comfortable furniture for relaxing and enjoying the view.

You will be able to witness epic sunrises and sunsets at either end of the canyon, and you just might catch a rainbow following an afternoon thunderstorm.

Guests are free to explore three acres of vineyards, several large fields, and a long creekfront.

These spaces are shared with deer, foxes, and many types of birds (cedar waxwings! blue grosbeaks! bullock's oriole! black-chinned hummingbirds! I could go ON!). Occasionally, there are bear and mountain lion sightings as well.

Nearby activities abound - hike, bike, and explore the archaeology of the area!

Some top attractions are:
- Canyons of the Ancients National Monument (hike, bike, or horseback ride)
- Mesa Verde (archaeological tours are a specialty)
- Phil's World (world-class mountain biking trail system)

You can also easily access the pristine Dolores River and all the hiking that the San Juan Mountains have to offer by driving north through the town of Dolores.

This property has both a yurt and a stone house. This listing is for the yurt only. While the yurt and surrounding yard is private, the house is nearby and may have other guests during your stay.
