Few points to consider: They Don’t Care About Itinerary Promises: The hotel doesn’t seem to care about providing the items promised in the Expedia itinerary. Following up with Expedia didn’t help at all either. They want people to book through their website. Riu Parties: The parties are fun, but they only happen once a week and are at another hotel, which is a bit of a hassle. Entertainment: The activities are super basic and the same every day. Definitely could be better. Construction Issues: There’s construction going on at the hotel, and they try to charge extra for a room upgrade just to avoid the construction view, which feels unfair.

I stayed at Hotel Riu Latino for a week, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food and bars were good, and the beach was conveniently close to the hotel. They also organized several activities during our stay, which added to the enjoyment. That said, there were a couple of issues. The Wi-Fi was not reliable in all areas of the resort, which was inconvenient. Also, if you book through Expedia, the hotel does not provide a free shuttle, which was disappointing.

We had a great time at RIU Latino. The staff was very kind and accommodating. There were plenty of drink and food locations. The property was incredibly clean. Lack of bathroom amenities is really the only complaint.

Pros: The Beach is perfect and super clean. Restaurants: The Kulinarium was very good Cons: Bar Staff and Drinks (just watered down sugar water. Bartenders in lobby area rude. Buffett was underwhelming The other so called specialty restaurants offered a sub bar experience as well. Rooms as well are not what we are used from other resorts in Yucatán. Also the offered 200$ SpaCredit turned out to be a cupon system which was not solely for the spa but for different things on the property definitely not advertised correctly not one VIP perk was offered or delivered check in was slow even thought online checkin was performed as requested and nothing got explained correctly. Limited dining options after 10pm to not say non existing No Room Service no Jacuzzis Overall rating and experience: Below average. First and definitely last time we book a RIU property. The staff in service was trying and super friendly but they could bit make up for the lack of organization and quality of food and drinks provided (after the Geisha -Sushi restaurant my wife had food poison symptoms obviously from the salmon as I didn’t and did not eat any of it.) For the money spent there are way better Resorts in the area also VIP on Expedia seems to be a hit but mostly miss so far I only got recognized once for it so there should be a better communication between properties and Expedia if this is offered as so far not impressed at all. i wouldn’t recommend due to our personal experience.

I absolutely loved it at Riu Latino! I dont know where other reviewers stayed but i had a great time eith my spouse. The grounds are immaculately clean. Our room was cleaned everyday except one day that we chose no service. I asked for soap refill and it wasnt refilled when i got back. When i called back customer service the man on the phone was shocked, you could hear in his voice how incredulous it was to him that the service wasnt provided and he sent it right away. The Staff Every single person we interacted with was pleasant! They were all great. A few people that interacted with and loved: Food: It wasnt the greatest food but with all the options you are sure to find something good. The buffet was our favorite place and go early when the food is fresh, things tend to dry out after. The steakhouse was a hard pass for us, flavors were not good. The Asian restaurant was ok. We didnt try Italian, we just kept going to the buffet. The Grounds Since we were there near Christmas we got to see the decorations, very well done. Lawn was cut. Staff was cleaning up constantly.
