Very limited selection at buffets. Cleanliness of resort, specifically restrooms, was sub par. Both the safe and the in room scale did not work. Doors to hotel room didn’t close correctly.

We loved snorkeling from the beach every day. There were a lot of sea creatures to discover. The grounds were nice, but certainly not immaculate. There was trash that was outside of rooms in the grass that was never disposed of despite being brought to the resorts attention. We got suckered into a high-pressure sales pitch that was pitched to us as only an advertisement for the other Hyatt hotels and resorts. This advertisement was only supposed to be 90 minutes…150 minutes later, we finally got out of it with the gifts they promised…won’t do that again! We should’ve known better, but we trusted that the concierge was being honest with us.

We showed up on Wednesday to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. The staff took out passports to confirm identify and noted information down. They were nice when they greeted us. We were informed our original room was not available until the next day so we were put in a room with one bed instead of two. We asked for extra towels the next day and after 2 1/2 hrs I called again because they didn’t show up. An hour later they still didn’t show up. By then we decided to go out into the pool area and I went to the lobby to let them know. They advised us our original room would be ready at 3pm that day. I let it go and decided to enjoy the beach. There were so many nats at the pool area that our drinks would end up with them floating around. Our swim up had so many bats floating in the water that we would come out with them on us. The lobby guys who provided rides to the other resorts were very sweet and we did enjoy their service. But lobby staff at the adjoining resorts, like Sunscape and secrets would never acknowledge or greet you. I took my daughter on Sunday after her 18th birthday to secrets and they questioned her age. I told them I could show them her passport and that our resort “dreams” was advised she would be 18 and even told us we could go to Secret (an all adult) resort on Saturday. They allowed us to eat there Sunday but then Monday we returned and they asked for her ID because our receptionists reported that we never provided her with this information.

We love staying at Dreams Cozumel because the staff are all wonderful! They make you feel like home away from home in paradise. We especially enjoyed Miguel at the pools, Jonathan at the bars, Julio in the World Cafe and Gloria who made delicious omelets each day! We also ventured over to Secrets and Sunscape since it’s included for meals and activities. Mily at the Sunscaoe front desk was so helpful!

Staff is amazing and very helpful. The rooms are good sized and cleaning staff did a great job, though refilling the mini fridge was spotty.

They did not attempt to clean the seaweed which brought an abundance of flies and smell. Very limited dining. Housekeeping was great and servers were very nice.

This trip was not at all what we expected. First of all, we asked and searched exclusively ADULT ONLY properties. So go end up in a family resort by the kiddie pool was baffling. On top of having a room on the 3rd level with no elevator. Literally 46 steps to the stairs from ground to 3rd floor. There was an adjoining room and the door between rooms wouldn’t lock from my side. After calling and going to office multiple times, they never came to fix the lock. A/C hadn’t been on in room and it took over 24hrs to cool room to tolerable temperatures. The food was disgusting. The only thing that was edible was the breakfast where you order, not the buffet. We agreed to go to breakfast for 90 min w/ the site rep and told we would receive $350 resort funds to be spent on site. Sein took us to Sunscape and connected us with Benjamin that took us to breakfast. Multiple times they both said 90 minutes and $350. Sein was great! Benjamin was amazing! The last person they sent to our table to supposedly give us the promised $350 to spend on-site was a woman that was rude, condescending, pushy and inappropriate. To then realize next day when paying at the spa the funds we were supposed to have received for 90 minutes of our time was shorted by $100…priceless! The spa receptionist counted it twice and we confirmed $250 not the promised and agreed upon $350. Which meant we still had to pay out of pocket for scheduled services after giving up 2.5 hours of our time.

The majority of the staff I encountered were very polite and helpful. Awesome, actually. When we arrived it took over an hour and a half past our check in for me to get my room. Most of the meals I had were not very good: poor execution and flavor. There were two restaurants that had meals we enjoyed overall. Rm Service lunch/dinner menu was hit or miss. One day adequate, the next day terrible. Rm Service breakfast was good though. I did not care for the buffet options at any of the three connected resorts. The room I booked was cute and clean overall. But I noticed the bed pillows had hair in the pillowcases that was clearly not my own. But that was fixed once I requested a sheet change. My room was over the main kid pool. We thought we booked adults only. I needed a cart to travel across the properties due to an injury I’m still recovering from. There were no carts one day so I was forced to walk across three resorts with a cane. A kind staff member offered to push me in a wheelchair one time but I was almost to my destination so I declined. The spa was amazing! It’s totally worth it. The hydrotherapy and massage therapists were great. I’d do another spa day again. One frustrating part of our trip was a sales woman in the vacation booking office who was condescending and rude. We expressed that we were ready to go as the session was much longer than expected. That one incident soured me to coming back to this location even though most of the staff were lovely.

Just don’t do it. Horrible experience for me and the 6 other rooms in our party. Every time we went to the lobby area there were also other people complaining. Too many things to list here. Horrible customer service. None of their operator phone numbers work. Plumbing is all trash. And the food is nasty and cheap at every location. There’s nothing nearby so you’re stuck there too. Stay somewhere else.

When we arrived, the bell hop was there to greet us. He put luggage to the side and told us to check in. The man checking us in was polite. When we went back outside, our luggage was unattended and bell hop did not come back for 20 mins. The food was limited and awful. The restaurants were not open all day. The pizza shop was empty and smelled like rotting food. The buffet was infested with insects crawling in the food. The service was lousy. My young son wouldn’t eat the sushi so I tried bringing some kid friendly food for him and was stopped at restaurant door as if the plate was explosive. Rude. The entertainment was nonexistent. Only thing to do was drink and swim in pool. The tile floors in all common areas and dining rooms were extremely slippery. Many people fell. I slipped twice. My daughter-in-law’s best friend slipped and broke her toe while at the resort dining area. All in all we couldn’t wait to come back home.

This property and the two next to it are all owned by Hyatt. If you get the "preferred guest" package you have access to all three. This was fortunate, as the pool at Dreams is small and was crowded with children. The Secrets resort next door is adults only. This really saved the trip for us. The property itself, while kept very clean is getting pretty dated. The food was cafeteria quality at all three properties and became old really quick. Upon arrival they very politely slide you into a "Membership" presentation. Typical timeshare BS ($75K, or $1400 a month for the rest of your life). While you can decline the talk at anytime, if you suffer through it to the end you get $300 to spend on activities. We put ours to the Island jeep tour, which was a lot of fun. Our first and last "All Inclusive" resort vacation.

I think Dreams is a great resort for families specifically. We loved the room and the easy access to the beach. The staff was really nice and helpful. However, the food was TERRIBLE. Not exaggerating. It had a huge impact on the experience unfortunately. Thankfully our room was clean at all times, however some areas, such as the hallways and the world cafe area could’ve been a bit cleaner. Overall, I can’t say that I would go back to the resort myself, but it’s a great starter resort.
