First thing elevator to the newly renovated part was out of order. So got rebooked into older section, room was dirty, remote didn’t work no USB charger ports and also could feel springs from mattress.

Unfortunately we did not get to stay here. I had our suite room booked since may and upon arrival they informed us that our room was not going to be available. We had 2 young children with us, therefore the suite was our only option. They offered us other rooms, and free breakfast (which was complimentary anyway) but the room offered was not appropriate for us. The lady at the front desk was very kind, however we had travelled 6 hours to get to our hotel only to find out it was not available. A curtesy call ahead of arrival would have been appreciated. Instead we had to find a new hotel appropriate for our family in the parking lot.

Mediocre stay
Check in went well, asked for a higher level that wasn't pet friendly to ensure the room hadn't had pets previously, due to allergies which they were happy to find and accommodate. Room was tight, smaller then most ive stayed in. The balcony door latch on inside was broke, and the lock was tricky to lock, and torn netting up around. There were areas throughout the room where there was paint peeling off walls/doors. The AC didnt work well, it was a hot day and it was no help in cooling down from the outside heat. The bathroom was extremely small, step in the bathtub to close the door, then step out to use toilet, sink was located outside in the main room area. Bathroom door on the inside had like stains running down the door, all discolored. Still had carpet that looked outdated. The room however was decorated nicely with closet and tv stand etc. The beds were comfy. Checkout was fine, no issues.

Our first room had an AC unit that made the room warmer instead of cooler and we were moved the next day. While the rooms have been renovated the washroom layout is very awkward; you can barely close the door without stubbing a toe. I was very surprised that there was no in room safe!

We were very happy with this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They upgraded us to a room that was very convenient to have our baby in a separate room for naps and bedtime. They gave us a third night at the reduced rate. There was noise and beeping outside the room first thing in the morning and past kids bedtime as the hotel was being repainted, but we didn't even care because we were so happy with the overall experience.

Our 1st room had a toilet paper clogged sink and cigarette butts all over the balcony and the room smelled like it had been smoked in. The helpful front desk staff was quick to put us in a new and cleaner room, but then we were woken up by crew on a lift to work on our balcony the next morning . The best thing about our stay was the great pillows Holiday Inn always have from property to property. We did have a nice meal at the attached East Side Marios.
