Beautiful Waterfront Vacation Rental on the Currituck Sound

Relax and enjoy a retreat, romantic getaway, or family vacation at this beautiful waterfront cottage. This fully remodeled cottage has 3 bedrooms (two masters, a kids room that sleeps three, plus sleeper sofas in the loft and game room), 3 baths (including one with jetted tub), a fully furnished kitchen, and game/play room. In addition, the cottage offers places to gather, cook, and eat both inside and outside.

Located less than 40 miles from Chesapeake VA and from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Currituck Cottage offers panoramic views of Currituck Sound and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Enjoy views of the beautiful boats going by, or birds native to the area (including Bald Eagles). From Memorial Day Weekend thru Labor Day Weekend, play with the pedal boat, paddle boat, kayaks (4), and bicycles (2 adult, 2 youth). Fish or crab from the 2 docks and piers (crab pot provided). Four golf courses are less than 30 minutes away, and duck hunting is available nearby. You can also use a nearby boat launch to enjoy your own boat or jet ski.

The Currituck Cottage is a NO Smoking/Smoke Free cottage. Smoking is not allowed.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. Quiet neighborhood, lovely views. The outdoor toys accommodated all of us (4 adults). The crabbing was a great experience and the owners were very responsive to one minor issue we had the entire week of our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Great break from life.
The property was great. The grandkids enjoyed the canoe, kayak, and fishing from the pier. We loved the magnificent view at night of the stars, not diminished by light pollution. Sitting on the swing watching the sunrise was breath taking.

Relaxing week in March
We had a blast even though a cold front came through. We threw out the crab pots and pulled in some tiny shrimp who were eating well so we let everybody go. We had 7, and the loft turned out to be the best “bedroom” in the house (if you’re an early riser). First time staying in this area and I’d love to come back when it’s warmer! Thank you for sharing the home with us!!

A great getaway for the family
Steffen and Cherry have the most magical place on the sound. A fabulous getaway for the family, the sunsets are stunning! Steffen went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and was so kind and quickly responded to any questions. We even had the option for a late check out to enjoy the views a little longer. The house is gorgeous and has everything you could need. The views are stunning, plenty to do with kids on the property (crabbing, kayaking, paddle boat) we didn’t use the bikes but there was so many activities to choose from. Under An hour to OBX it’s the best of both worlds! Thank you Steffen and Cherry! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend this stay!

Perfect house in great location
The house was immaculate: beautiful, thoughtfully designed, very convenient and great location: overlooking the bay (gorgeous surnises!). We particularly enjoyed the spacious living room with skylights and bay views, the game room, bicycles. Host was very responsive before and throughout our stay. Location is halfway between the Outer Banks and the Virginia towns of Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Newport Mews. We took full advantage by doing day trips to all the above, enjoying the ocean/bay/dune scenery of OBX and Inner Banks, as well as museums and historic districts in Virginia.

Beautiful home, quiet neighborhood and beautiful view of sound. Perfect vacation retreat. Home is fully supplied with everything you need for fun even though I only used the home to rest and recharge with my husband and mother. Will definitely keep on my list of places I will stay again. Owners are very responsive and seem really nice. If you are considering this property you won’t be disappointed!!!!

We had a wondeful weekend relaxing. We never left the property. Loved the view, access to water, kayaking, fishing, and birding the neighborhood. I would suggest updating the cookware and cleaning the windows and windowsills. Otherwise, a lovely weekend.

Well equipped and relaxing
We went here hoping to just relax after moving from one state to another and unpacking. This house is perfect for that! We spent most of our time enjoying the view from the back patio and dock/pier while reading, chatting and soaking in the sun. The house is well equipped with just about anything you could need. We were able to use two of the adult bikes to go for rides on the island. The shed also had cornhole that we played as well as a number of tubes you could use to float in the sound. OBX is about an hour away, depending on what beach you choose. We look forward to going here again someday!

Great alternative to beach stay
This was our first time staying on the Sound side versus beachfront. It was a much more relaxing experience! We kayaked right there at the property and went canoeing but we also drove the kayaks two mins down the road (just hanging out of our CRV) and dropped off there. That was the most fun of all because more to see and explore. We also picked up a fire starter log and owner’s firewood (thank you!!) and had a great campfire (bring bug spray - the ocean breeze keeps most bugs away but a little bug spray would have made it a perfect experience). The house itself was pleasantly more than expected, VERY clean, and owner had anything/everything you’d need (bring batteries though for Wii controllers!) There was tons of seating options outside. Owners were super quick to respond to any questions/concerns. The only drawbacks (outside of owner’s control) per husband/son was that swimming was a no go bc very shallow water and bottom marshy seagrass, and the nearest grocery store/restaurant 20 mins away. The views from the house though were amazing. We loved our stay, thank you so much!

Great Place for a trip!
