Farmhouse, pool & hot tub, 6 bedrooms 4 bathrooms sleeps 13/16 in Loire Valley

La Roche d'Enchaille is a barn conversion located between the medieval market towns of Loches and Descartes; ideally positioned for exploring the Loire Valley and its Château. Set in to a hillside with a wood behind, La Roche d'Enchaille enjoys uninterrupted views of the surrounding rolling farmland and woodlands providing peace and tranquility. The accommodation is a careful restoration and conversion of the farm to the Château de Cussay, this dates back to 1268 when the first record of the château can be traced as being sold to Guy the Doyen of St Martin. The main West-facing wall is formed from the original château ramparts and vestiges of these are present through out the grounds as well as entrances to caves and tunnels. The locals swear there is a tunnel linking La Roche d’Enchaille with the Church in the centre of Cussay some 5 km away. The château had several roles during its long history, including operating as a mint striking coinage back in the 16th century and more recently as a “Relais de Post'. It now offers relaxed open plan living with a games room for table tennis and darts, a choice of out door terraces with a hot tub and sun lounges as well as dining areas.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful place
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Garth and Liz’s wonderful place. We were a family reunion of eight adults and six children, and everyone loved the house, the grounds, the jacuzzi, and exploring the surrounding countryside. Garth and Liz were exemplary hosts - great at communicating, on site in case anything was needed, but totally out of the way. The house felt like it was ours alone. Would definitely book again!

Lovely barn conversion with plenty of indoor and outdoor entertaining space
Staying in October, this gite was perfect with a huge kitchen - dining - living space, a large games room and a hot tub. We were impressed with the quality of fixtures & fittings and the bedroom accommodation was flexible. Would love to come back again in summer and enjoy more of the outside space and pool. Good location, especially for Loire Chateaux & vineyards. No hesitation in recommending.

Fantastic house in beautiful location
We have just got back from a great week - the house was even better than the photos, beautifully decorated and furnished, and spotlessly clean. Garth and Liz were always on hand to answer any questions, but not intrusive. Buster was very friendly too, and even looked sad to see us go. Loches was a good place to visit, especially on market day, but we also spent a lot of time at the house either in the pool or the hot tub, or playing table tennis or darts in the barn. Highly recommended!

Tout ici est parfait ! Le cadre, les propriétaires, la maison et les extérieurs.
Nous avons organisé notre mariage à la Roche d'enchaille, les propriétaires ont été accueillants, aidant et d'une gentillesse sans faille ! La propriété est superbe, jaccusi, piscine, terrain de boules. Les enfants ont passé deux journées extraordinaire, la vue sur la campagne environnante est magnifique. Très belle expérience pour ce jour inou Mia le.

Tres beau corps de ferme rénové avec gout avec vue sur les champs. Nous avons passé un jour de l an en famille tres convivial. La maison est propre et bien équipée. Le seul bémol est la litterie du canape lit a revoir. Nous gardons cette adresse pour un prochain sejour.

Un gîte magnifique dans un cadre idyllique. Que du bonheur!!
Dès que l’on rentre dans cette maison, on sait que le séjour va être agréable: la décoration est faite avec goût, l’endroit est d’une propreté surprenante et même le linge de maison sent bon. Chaque pièce est magnifique et on a été ébloui en ouvrant chaque porte!! Le jaccuzi est un plus non négligeable, la terrasse est très reposante avec une vue magnifique! Bref, aucun point négatif pour ce séjour. Garth a été d’une extrême gentillesse et s’est adapté à notre petit retard!;) leur chien est aussi très sympathique. Vous pouvez vous rendre dans ce gîte les yeux fermés, vous y passerez forcément un séjour magique!!! Merci d’avoir rendu cette pause dans votre région encore plus inoubliable qu’elle aurait pu l’etre!;)
