On the mouth of the River Dart, Dartmouth’s history dates to 1086 and weaves across the centuries as a port down brimming with intrigue. From piracy to smuggling and literary inspiration, it even warranted a mention in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. Today Dartmouth is famous for its annual Royal Regatta, naval college, colourful harbour, and culinary delights.
