Grandma B’s House - Walk Downtown De Soto, KS

Welcome to Grandma B's House, a 1920's Victorian farmhouse in the small town of De Soto, KS in our quaint downtown area with parks, shopping, restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. De Soto is located an easy 15-20 minute drive from the larger communities of Lawrence & Kansas City Metro.

This three bedroom, 2 bath home is comfortably decorated with antiques and vintage pieces to help you reminisce of days gone by. Experience the nostalgia of small town Kansas.

The home has been recently renovated to add modern conveniences while keeping the original charm of 1920's America.

Enjoy coffee on the front or back covered front porches or walk downtown for a fresh cup. On the first floor you will find an formal living and dining rooms, updated kitchen and full bath with shower over tub. The living room features a sleeper sofa, comfy chair, smart TV, vintage radio with record player, games and a little free library. A gorgeous glass chandelier will greet you in the formal dining room with seating for eight as well as a window seat and dedicated workspace with desk, lamp, adjustable height chair and router. Our farmhouse kitchen is fully stocked, complete with a coffee and tea bar and has room at the island for a quick breakfast or extra helpers to sit and chat.

Upstairs are three private bedrooms with closets and a hall bathroom with a tiled shower.

Please note that both entrances to the home have steps. On the main level there is a full bath and sleeper sofa, but all bedrooms are on the second level and require guests to be able to climb a full staircase.Guests are required to sign a simple rental agreement prior to accessing the home.

Excellent!
We were in De Soto to visit family. We really enjoyed our stay at Grandma B's - it was perfect for us. It was comfortable, clean, & well equipped in every way. It is an historic type of house that has been nicely updated & decorated while maintaining it's character. The bed was super comfy. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch one of the mild evenings. We most definitelly will stay here when returning to town. Thank you!

We had a wedding at cedar valley forest & the home was the perfect place to stay. We enjoyed all the antiques! We were able to walk to downtown & enjoy a beer at the new Force of Nature brewery. So fun..a must

So Sweet!
Angela was so nice and helpful. We were having our floors done and needed to be out of the house. Angela went above and beyond to help us. We ended up not staying at Grandma B’s after my husband said the smell in our house was ok for us to come home, but we did go inside before we got the call from my husband and it looked very clean!

Perfect Getaway
I stayed here with four of my friends, and we had a girls night out with a Pride and Prejudice theme. This house is actually cuter in person than it is on the website. I highly recommend it It was super clean and super enjoyable. Angela was amazing and super helpful during our stay, and I actually think I may try to stay here again it was so much fun! Such a cute place and such a sweet town.

Grandma B’s is a beautifully updated old house. My family and I enjoyed our stay and the location is great. The sleeping pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable so I do suggest bringing your own pillow from home. The house was very clean and we felt at home during our time there.

Grandma B’s as perfect!
Check-in was easy. Plenty of Parking. Charming house with all the right spaces for our book club friend group to visit, cook, game, sing karaoke, and make a little art! (And of course sleep!). We may well stay here again!

Teacher’s Trip
We are a team of PreK, K and Special Ed teachers who wanted to get away for just a day and do some bonding and shopping around KC. Grandma B’s house was perfect for us in every way. The beds were comfy, the kitchen equipped and best of all, the house was spotless! Loved this cute and quaint cottage. Very comfortable. Loved the decor and nostalgic touches, right down to the radio on when we arrived and the old records. Reminded me of my grandparents place from my childhood! Would definitely recommend to everyone!

Cute place!
This was a perfect place to stay for our son’s wedding. Venue was close and rehearsal supper was close! Just a heads up; all 3 bedrooms are upstairs! There was lighting on the stairs; but batteries were dead. Worked well after we replaced batteries. Old house that has settling which is to be expected but none of the doors stay closed. Overall a great place to stay; would stay there again

The house is EXQUISITE and location SUBERB! Loved everything about this place. If you're looking for something close to Bonner Springs, Olathe, Lawrence I highly recommend THIS PLACE! You're close to everything within 15minutes but have that legit small town SAFE feel. Will stay again here as our 1st pick and with zero hesitation. We were attending a concert at Azura Amphitheater.

Great historic home!
This farmhouse reminds me of my grandparents house. Cute touches and plenty of space. Our 3 generations had a great stay. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the internet worked great to stream TV and work remotely.
