Accommodation In Central Java

If you're planning a trip to Indonesia and you want to immerse yourself in Javanese history and culture, look no further than our Central Java hotels.

Things to Do

The first stop on your trip may be Semarang, the capital of central Java. This portside town is a bit of a paradox, with its modern CBD and its crumbling colonial architecture, alongside the bustling Chinatown area. Even so, you're bound to have a blast here, discovering the flavours, sights and sounds of this Indonesian treasure trove.

Not far down the road from Semarang, you'll find Jepara, a gorgeous beach town which is also home to an ancient fort worth taking a look at.

If you're a history buff and the fort has barely whet your appetite, make sure you visit the Borobudur and Prambanan temples, two of the most significant historical sites in all of Java. Both are found in the cultural hub of Yogyakarta.

One thing is for sure in Yogyakarta: you’ll find plenty of things to do. You can go shopping along stylish Malioboro Road, hunt for bargains in the markets in the old city area of Kraton, grab a coffee at a modern cafe, dance the night away in one of the nightclubs, watch a shadow puppet show or catch a performance from the internationally acclaimed Ramayana Ballet.

On one hand, Yogyakarta combines the old world with the Indonesian modern way of life and on the other hand, Solo, a cultural and trading centre, has stuck to Javanese tradition. You'll find lots of traditional style art and handicrafts, so if you're looking for souvenirs, Solo is the place to go. Solo, just like New York, is also known as "the city that never sleeps", so you'll be able to grab a bite to eat from one of the local stalls any time of the day or night.

Getting Here

If you're planning on starting your adventure in the capital, check out these great deals on flights to Semarang. Otherwise, take advantage of these cheap flights to Yogyakarta or these affordable airfares to Solo. Once you're here, you can hire a scooter or get around by bus or minivan for a very reasonable price.

A well-deserved holiday in the tropics, complete with fascinating history, enchanting culture and delicious food. Wot more could you want? Book your Central Java accommodation with us now and enjoy all of this at a cheaper price!
