The property and rooms were overall average. The location is obviously an old building which they have done a really good job of fixing up, but our bathroom was not very clean with dirty finger marks on the walls and around the light switches. The main lobby had a strange smell and the main floor washrooms had a very strong smell. After using the washrooms in the lobby I was very worried the rooms would be similar, but luckily they were not. No complaint of smell in our room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and was a very nice surprise. The room itself was fine and just what we needed after a day at the Lions game. We were surprised to see the restaurant was still closed. It appears that it has been closed for months and nothing on the website indicates it is not open.

Cons: noisy space with too many hard surfaces in the guest rooms, and wall mounted TVs that carry sound through the walls. Complementary breakfast would have been a real nice thing to provide. Also, no grab bars in the tub/shower for guest safety. Pros: very clean, modern updates, wonderful artistic touches throughout, very friendly staff, easy access to bus routes and local food and drink, great neighborhood.

This hotel is in a good location, not too close to the business of downtown, but a 20-30 minute walk. It's in a residential/industrial area, but has plenty of close options for dining. The rooms are basic, but clean, and everything worked. There was an issue with lack of hot water one morning, but other than that, everything was great.
