Lovey
Do take it to heart that the owners say there will be bar noise for awhile. We were quite jet-lagged so it didn’t stop the sleep but it was definitely noticeable that people were having a great time! Dinner was fabulous but do make reservations!

Loved it there, was so near and convenient for Paulton's Park, lovely food & service was good too. Wish there was a fridge in the room & air con, was difficult in the heatwave. A plus point would be to have a swing & slide for the children in the outdoor area.

Lovely, but could do with a deep clean
Great hotel, could do with a deep clean though as floors in our room (10) were very dusty under furniture and throughout as my little boys socks were covered in dust. Other than that, great place to stay, lovely food/drink and very accomodating x

Super comfy bed, super friendly staff, some real lovely touches in the room and an evening meal and breakfast that was perfection on a plate. Very dog friendly, In fact I had trouble getting my dog into the car on departure because he didn't want to leave. I would definitely stay again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend The Mortimer Arms too.

Short Break
Staff at The Mortimer Arms were friendly and helpful. They were attentive during breakfast and the evening meal and the food was tasty. The crockery and condiments used during breakfast could have been cleaner however: dried egg/fat stain on a sugar sachet, cutlery needed changing.

A lovely friendly hotel
Great little hotel and pub. We stayed as a family of 3 for 3 nights. Rooms were large, comfortable and well maintained. Staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast really set us up for the day each morning. A bit noisy in the evening due to being an old building with the pub kitchen below - but not enough to spoil our stay. Overall, a good place for exploring the new forest and surrounds.

Perfect family get away
The hotel is very clean and perfect for families. The brought pull out beds for the kids and gave them crayons and pictures to colour which calmed them down. There is WiFi but you have to ask for the code and the food is great.

Don't take room 4.
The chiller /air conditioner ran hard all night unable to get any sleep .late arrival s beating door to get in , seated on a broken chair for breakfast. Place is run down. Not worth £105 pound a night . Avoid this hotel.

Lovely stay, will be returning
Went to Paultons Park for the day and stayed at the Mortimer Arms! Perfect location literally can walk out of the park to the hotel. Plenty of on-site parking. Staff really lovely. Had dinner and breakfast. Both were really lovely food, service at dinner wasn’t great as they were short staffed. But other than that we had a really lovely stay and will be returning next year when we go back to Paultons Park.

The very good , and the “ not so good”
Overall this was a very good stay, it would have been excellent except for two things. Firstly the really good , and that is the staff, from the first welcome to when we left everyone was pleasant, and easy to speak too, especially the staff in the restaurant, nothing was too much trouble. Well done all of you ! The food ( we had dinner all three nights here ) was superb , a really good choice on the menu and it was really well cooked and presented , thanks Chef and staff, you deserve to be mentioned. The “not so good” The room ( number 14) was lovely , spacious and clean BUT it is the only room along the corridor where it is next to the toilets for the bar and restaurant, that isn’t the problem, the problem is the fire doors which people open and allow to bang closed !, and I mean bang !! from about 1700 to 2200 and sometimes from about 0600 when staff use them ,it is a constant noise in your room and the tv on the wall even shakes ! It could be cured with a soft close option being fitted ( they are fire doors and need to close). The other thing was the tap on the sink was very loose, I reported it straight away and was told it would be fixed, three days on and it wasn’t, on leaving I reminded them again, it will end in a leak if not serviced.

The room was clean and comfortable with the odd squeaky floorboard you'd expect from an old building. The staff were really friendly an always eager to help. The food though is excellent. The breakfasts are consistently fantastic and the three times we ate in the evenings were of equal quality. I highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Highly recommended
Stayed for one night after visiting peppa pig world. Only 2 mins drive away from the park. Got there for dinner time and the food was lovely, lots of choices but abit different than your usual pub food, more interesting. Room was lovely, king sized bed and a little bed for our 3 year old. Lovely big shower. Quiet. Room abit warm but there was a fan and we'd opened the windows but it had been a warm day. Breakfast included and lots of options including veggie and vegan!
