Unfortunately we were given room 53, it was impossible to sleep due to the noise from the hotels heating system, we ended up having to change rooms in the middle of the night inorder to get some sleep...so top tip...dont accept room 53

Lovely short break. Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice hotel room with sun terrace. Very good breakfast. The winter dinner menu was a little lacking in variety but what we chose was well cooked.

Toil had black stain in system in first room was not much better in second . Holtel looked old tired and in need of some TLC. In the room the blind was held down with the use of a nail knocked into the wall . Will not be stopping her again . SORRY

I’ve stayed here a few times. Staff here is incredibly kind and helpful if any issues. The rooms are always nice, clean and very warm (radiator that you can control yourself). One of my favourite things is that each room has a little private balcony so plenty of fresh air available. The beds usually have two types of pillows ( lots of cushions), so you can pick the one that works for you (one is extra plump and the other one is a little lower which I prefer). Some parts of the rooms are a little dated but all is well kept so it’s not an issue from me. During the day staff always makes sure your tea/coffee/water station is topped up and you’ve got fresh towels and nicely made bed on your return. I’ve always had a lovely stay here.

The hotel was nice and quiet. It is in a quiet area so not great if you need a cab. The downside the hotel locks it doors at midnight which they never informed us about and took 15mins to get someone to oppen the door.

Needs a revamp
Was overall good but could be much better if the place was given a much needed facelift especially the bathrooms which were a bit tired but clean, the staff are fantastic and really sell the place giving a lovely welcoming atmosphere the food is lovely but limited and couldn’t fault the breakfast! The location is good if you want a rural setting. Was very cheap so that offsets the flaws and would not rule out going again

Property very dated in need of refurbishment . Bar,restaurant and reception are passable but tired with musty smell in some areas. Our room was hideous.Carpet worn and dirty.Furnishings old and damaged. No heating controls that resulted in very hot room. The heating turns on automatically and makes a noise very early in the morning.The radiator controls don’t work. The bathroom was awful.The bath taps are corroded and the tiles are covered in mildew . It’s a long time since we have had a shower curtain and this One had discoloured and smelt. Cleaning was almost non existent apart from the bed being made. From the Road it looks a lovely property,best advice drive by

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was AMAZING, so comfy and I got a really good night's sleep. Less good was the decor was tatty and the carpet had bleach stains on it, although maybe we were allocated this room as we had an assistance dog with us. The room was freezing and the knob to turn the radiator on was behind a wardrobe out of reach. We did manage to get it going but the room was still chilly. Reception did offer to help us with this. There was no shampoo/body wash in the dispenser.

Lovely stay
Had a lovely stay which was very much off the cuff, beautiful building, a great balance between the quaint thatched outside and modern interiors. Staff were attentive and always nice, particularly the head of front of house and reception staff. Near a busy road but still very quiet inside all areas. Food was also very nice both for breakfast and evening meals.

Great Place to Stay
Potter’s Heron has it all, including Ken, the resident peacock. The room was comfortable and spacious. We ate at the attached hotel restaurant for both breakfast and dinner and enjoyed all the food. The beef stew was especially tasty. My daughter loved the chicken.
