Beautiful House!
This property was very fantastic. A beautiful place with a cool history. We loved the big windows! The downstairs floor is cement which is not my personal favorite but it seems to go with the style of the house. It is directly across the road from the dirt race track so our son loved watching from the front yard. The race cars do get noisy but they are done by about 9:30 at night so it is not that bad. This house is definitely worth staying in

The house was very accommodating for our group. Spacious relaxing area with enough room to relax with everyone or on your own. The kitchen has plenty of cookware. However, only salt, pepper and flour was available for preparing a meal. It would be more accommodating if there were more options for outdoor seating and a small gas grill would be a nice compliment the kitchen. Plenty of cleaning supplies on hand and the toiletries were plentiful. Overall we had a wonderful time and the hosts were very quick to respond to any questions you may have. The area is surrounded with beautiful scenery and super friendly people. I highly suggest visiting any local eatery and shop. The surrounding towns to Darlington are amazing as well. The countryside was clean with very little litter along the roads

Adorable historic house
My family and I loved this house. Super interesting history. Tons of space, and with four bedrooms everyone could have their own which was the main reason we stayed here. Well taken care of, huge kitchen with everything you need. It was wonderful. The only thing we missed was a bit more furniture in the bedrooms - like end tables near the beds or maybe a small desk in the largest bedroom to put a laptop on or something. Not a big deal at all though.

Beautiful Writing Retreat Weekend
We stayed from Thurs-Sun. for a writing retreat. The house is gorgeous, the beds comfortable, the dining table was perfect for writing and the grocery store and downtown restaurants were only a few blocks away. We'd definitely come again. We only wished there was a door on the side of parking, as it was raining when we checked in! Otherwise, everything was great!

Nice and more than I needed
As I say more than I needed 3 BR more. I was there riding the ATV trails and did 175 miles worth. So a great place to stay and rest up. Hard to believe as nice as it was that it was built in 1833. A good property could easily see big enough for 8 people. So thanks for letting me visit.

My frustration renting this property is with VRBO and not the hosts/owners. The price advertised was only if 1 guest was staying in this house that sleeps ten. Numerous times did I message using Vrbo saying my family and I would be staying. It wasn’t until the second day I was notified that the price advertised was for 1 guest only. With 8 of us, that was going to be an additional 140 a night added along with the cleaning fee. The hosts were nothing but gracious when this was realized. They explained to me I was asked to enter the number of the guests- and I thought that was number of guests over the “10” that was allowed so I skipped that whole part when booking. Now that I’m familiar that there are listings out there where the price advertised is for 1 guest- I will be more focused on the actual price of the house for my family. In the end- my frustration is with Vrbo and their option to advertise in this manner. Some fault lies on me that I wasn’t educated on this and didn’t read/understand terms more thoroughly. Again- the home was gorgeous, the hosts were mostly gracious when this mistake of underpaying was realized since I did not select “8” for the house of 10. My family and I will not be able to afford this in the future but I understand we get what we pay for- and I’m sure our future stays in darlington, though cheaper, will not be nearly as nice. Being a home flipper myself, I loved looking at the before and after restoration and remodeling of the property- especially the original framed deed! So cool! Thank you for being so kind snd not making us leave.
