Beautiful hotel with great facilities in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Food at the 1877 restaurant was very good, as was the margarita in the bar!

Enjoyed our stay, popular place for weddings. Bedroom pretty warm at night, but Dyson fan supplied. Can't really fault anything. Food & service in restaurant good.

Generally, the property was lovely, and we had a good stay. Unfortunately, although the weather was warm, I would not say hot!!, the room was almost unbearably hot, and no air con. There was a fan, but this was next to useless. the window was tiny and had restrictions so could not get any cooler fresh air into the room, water was supplied, but no fridge, so again warm water! Very nice hotel, but needs air con installing, if the weather had of been hot outside, the room would certainly of been unbearable.

Stunningly beautiful property, excellent service. Would have been 5 out of 5 if it wasn’t for the bar being understaffed. With wedding guests flooding the bar more staff were needed. The bar also closes at 11:30! It was also incredibly hot in the bedrooms but apparently the new manager is going to address this fitting air conditioning.

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel but sadly the lift was broken all weekend making it very difficult for us to access our room with our heavy cases.

From the time we arrived the staff were friendly welcoming and efficient. The building is beautiful and well kept. Gardens beautiful the lovely calming stream that runs around the house. Rooms are extremely comfortable, beds, pillows very comfortably. Only downside the room we stayed in was far too hot even with the window open. We stayed on a wet and windy weekend. So must extremely hot when weather is hot. We did tell the reception. Reception did say they have fans. May be leave them in the rooms, as late at night you don’t want to deal with this. This aside we loved our stay. Breakfast was nice and relaxed. Staff attentive and helpful. Plenty of choice. My friend is vegan, she asked for a vegan sausage. The staff made this happen with ease. My friend left a jewelry bag in the room when we left. She called a couple of hours after we left, again the staff dealt with it swiftly and efficiently. Plus big thanks to housekeeping for handing it in. I believe the lady that handed that in was Tina. Thankyou as there was a sentimental ring in the pouch that my friends deceased mother had bought her. Your staff are amazing. It would be nice to have more than a potted amount of history on the house. Would not hesitated to recommend. Thank you to all the staff that dealt with us. Xxx

Room was lovely and grounds were amazing. Only thing I would improve is having a fridge in the room, AC in the rooms because it was boiling when the fan stopped (it was on a timer) and the windows didn’t open all the way. Also there was a lot of paint missing off our rooms walls and dirty marks on the lamps. Would stay again though and staff were really friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel with so much potential
Lovely hotel with so much potential, the grounds were beautiful and the service of the staff was amazing but the pool was advertised as heated and it was freezing which wasn’t so great with 2 children under the age of two! Our room was also very hot with no air con though fans were provided but being so warm just circulated warm air around. The paint on the bath side board had also chipped off exposing the wood underneath that was a little tatty and the single beds were the fold-away type beds not proper beds so again just a little tatty but all in all was a nice stay- just stating what could be improved! I think if you know children are staying maybe a nice touch would be if a little something was provided like a colouring book and pencils/crayons or a teddy. I also said that it was a special occasion stay but nothing was left in the room to acknowledge that.. again not a big thing but would of been nice for an extra touch.. the little things make a big difference
