Good hotel in the area.
I'm not sure what happens on weekends around Dover, however every hotel raises their prices by 100% on Saturday night, even if there is no race. This hotel, although dated, was quiet, (probably the quietest hotel we've ever stayed in), decent beds, decent breakfast, and easy access back on the highway. Would stay again when we're back in the area.

After I had unpacked the car, I went to close the sheer curtains for some privacy and still have light, but they were literally hanging in shreds. I dont know uf s carmt did it or it was just sun rot, but they were not useful for any sort of privacy. I was on the ground floor. I asked the front desk about replacing them and he offered to move me. I said ok, got a new room key and went back to change rooms. The new room was on the 2nd floor and I was tired from a full day of driving and didnt want to move all my stuff again so I decided to keep the ground floor room and just make do. Then, I went to hang up my clothes and there were no hangers. I asked at the front desk and he could give me 4 plastic hangers as he only had 8 and needed to have some for other guests. He was nice enough and not his fault about any of this, but I do expect better.

We booked a room with a hot tub. When we got there, there was mold on the ceiling above the hot tub. We told the people at the desk the next morning since we were exhausted from our long drive and they promised to have someone look at it. Well, apparently all they did was look as there was no change that evening. We left the next morning. The place is run down, but the bed was clean and comfortable. At breakfast there was only some bread for toast and a few stale English muffins. The coffee was pretty bad so we went to Wawa for breakfast.

Desk clerk extorted $20 from me for a half hour early check in fee, even though I was not going to the room, nor did I ask for the key at that time. My wife and I had an event away from the hotel, and would not return until late in the evening. The room had been paid online earlier, and the clerk was non informative on the hours of the breakfast, which was 9 am closing time, and we went down from our room at 9:05 AM the next day for breakfast (too late). The same desk clerk booked a future date room for us, gave us no definitive dollar amount for the room (we had paid $79 for the previous nite). This clerk was not very talkative nor helpful for someone staying there the first time. The clerk asked for my email, and said all done and the reservation confirmation would be emailed to me. Upon my return to my office, I found the reservation email, with the 2 nite reservation at a cost of $630.00 for the two nites. Fire the clerk, and get someone who knows how to treat customers with some care and kindness. Nevermore to this location for a stay!

WARNING- Felt unsafe, poor breakfast, no housekeep
I should have left as soon as I saw my room. To get inside, I had to pass through a group of shady looking people hanging around outside- one mentioned being choked out. I notified the person who checked me in that my plans might change and could I get a refund for early departure. He told me "yes". The room was warm and never cooled off despite lowering the AC. The security latch had obviously been pushed against and the screws were loose. The light switches and covers were supposed to be white, but had black dirt embedded in all the crevices. (I'm hoping it was dirt and not someone's poop!) The junction of wall and floor was dirty and showed rust coming through the paint. When I moved the shower curtain, I found a slug slithering up the wall. Breakfast is all cold items (and there is not much choice) except a waffle maker. The first day I worked in my room so had a do not disturb sign, but the next day I took it down and left about 11 am. I came back at 11 pm and my room had not been made up. I checked out early due to all the issues, but despite several calls and followup with hotels.com, I am being denied a refund. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. (I should have taken pictures, but do not usually leave bad reviews. Another lesson learned.)
