Very nice hotel, situated on the river walk, is pet friendly and has a great restaurant and bar. The valet service is a little pricey though. Rooms are spacious and updated.

We had a lovely stay at the Contessa Hotel in San Antonio. We were always served with a smile by friendly and helpful employees and the pool area was a welcome addition on the hot days/evenings. Our hotel room did come across as a little old, the main lounge light didn’t work and the bathroom area needed updating. Having said that we had lovely views, the room was large and the aircon worked great. We found the spa prices really quite expensive so didn’t use that which was a shame as it looked very nice. Location can’t be faulted, a short walk to the riverwalk main restaurants and bars.

The room had stained curtains and we had no hot water. That was the biggest issue and reason for overall rating. The bathroom had no air vent. The beds were uncomfortable. But we did have a nice stay, my family and i really enjoyed the pool.

Chris at the front desk was extremely friendly, inviting, helpful and made a super first impression of Hotel Contessa! He recommended places for dinner options, offered water upon our arrival and always had a smile on his face. Thank you Chris!!

Stayed two nights. First night, I heard the elevator ALL NIGHT LONG! Sounds like a ghost “ooohhhing” over and over again. Asked to move rooms. Ended three floors up and three doors further from the elevator. In the second room, the AC wouldn’t cool enough but I didn’t want to seem demanding so I just dealt with it. Very minimal improvement on the noise. Then to top it all off, the people in the room next door were VERY vocal during and completely unashamed of their ‘romantic adult relations’ being broadcast from 12:30am-3:30am… the ONLY things positive about the stay were the rooftop pool (although I was sad to see the jacuzzi was out of order) and the amazing staff! Not sure I’d go back again at nearly $800 for a two night getaway.

Didn’t like that the hotel doesn’t have its own garage to self park. Valet is way too expensive per night. Booked the hotel thinking it would be really nice but wasn’t what i expected. Didn’t have room service. I have stayed at other hotels less expensive and had free breakfast and lunch. Didn’t know we had to place a $150 deposit fee before hand plus they still charge for other things and won’t tell you about that. Valet also stepped in gum and left it on my floor mat didn’t even bother to clean it up. Over all my stay was a 5/10.

OK stay
The beds were very uncomfortable. The room was spacious however the bathroom was fine however the shower floor looked dirty (like it needed to be scrubbed) the pump for the body wash was missing the nozzle so I was unable to use that the coffee maker was broken and the Fiji $8 dollar water in the room was overpriced. For the high price of the room, they could have included complimentary bottled water in the room. I had requested two robes and there was only one included. Nice place however for the amount one pays I believe there are far better hotels in the vicinity.
