Room 105 has a strange light orangey stain on inside of toilet seat cover, doesn't clean off. It looks gross and is astonishing that they haven't replaced it. The bathroom was surface clean, but the anti slip texture on the tub has not been scrubbed with cleanser/bleached and holds some dirt. Not a place to feel good about putting a bare bum in a bath. The run down look of the room would be much improved with painting the walls and switch covers and replacing the badly stained desk lampshade, all which are probably originals from when first opened 30 years ago. The granite bathroom counter is nice and the desk was large and in good condition. Having a microwave and mini fridge in the room is a big plus. Front desk area coffee carafes are not electric and are poorly insulated, resulting in lukewarm coffee by mid morning. What we liked: easy access to interstate, dining, shopping, and aquarium, good staff, comfy beds, clean bedding and towels, and decent breakfast for this price point, which included some cooked items. I spent a lot of time reading reviews for places all over SLC. It seems all of what used to be mid-price chain hotels are now budget hotels that are barely maintained. Because affordability, location, bed and breakfast qualities are our top priorities, we will probably be back, but continue to do so only with discounted rate through apps, because these days (late 2024) even using the apps you can't get a room for less than $75 anywhere in Salt Lake County.
