The room was spacious and clean and comfortable and I loved the personality of the lobby and restaurant area. The complimentary breakfast was not great but even that was rather adorable. Everything was within walking distance. I highly recommended!

The location was good, easy to park etc. And the hotel and rooms were nice. Even the fitness room looked good. But the breakfast was terrible. Coffee urn was mostly empty, the toaster was broken, and bagels and cold cereal the only options. Not even sure it qualified as breakfast.

We stayed here for a weekend (9/12-14). The room was nice, but a cleaning rag was left on the desk in the room and there was a stain on the chair in the shape of a butt crack. Someone had left ice before us in the fridge freezer and it melted overnight one night, which means the freezer wasn’t checked. The room itself was nice and other than the things mentioned it was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The mattress was firm and while I don’t prefer a firm mattress it was good for sleeping. The room was quiet and I didn’t hear many people being loud in the hallway. There was a breakfast but there wasn’t much to it so we went across the street. The town itself isn’t big and it was nice to walk to the restaurants in town. The restaurant in the hotel isn’t open currently. Staff were nice. I got the impression they were short staffed, but they were never rude or anything. Parking was in the back of the hotel and that was adequate. I would consider staying here again in the future if I was in the area.

You can see that this hotel was once very nice. It needs a little TLC but our stay was nice. Pet friendly is a plus. The lady at the front is amazing! She kind and helpful and pretty much running the place in her own with a smile.

Mold in bathroom

I checked out shortly after checking in. There's mold all over the bathroom floor and shower. The room had peeling wallpaper and looked like it had seen better days. The photos online make it look much better than the in person. I do not recommend this property. On the upside the front desk was very friendly.

Flies and lies! Hello Expedia Customer Service, I have been a loyal and faithful client with Expedia for many years, and my husband and I recently booked a stay at The Gould for a Labor Day getaway. While I want to acknowledge that the customer service from Terrie was excellent she was helpful, attentive, and doing her very best the overall condition of the hotel was one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered. It’s was like staying at a bates hotel. From the moment we entered our room, the issues began. The wall light switch did not work, forcing us to use the flashlights on our phones just to find our way. The couch and pillows were run down, torn, and in unacceptable condition. When we inquired about the restaurant and bar, we were told they had been closed since July, but that was misleading. In fact, many of the amenities advertised online were either unavailable or inaccurately represented. It became clear that the photos and reviews we saw online were from previous ownership and did not reflect the current reality. The shower and toilet were not properly cleaned, towels had stains on them, and we even found hair left behind from previous guests. The furniture was broken, the air conditioners were taped up, and our bathroom had no window treatments, leaving us without privacy. There were no rugs on the floors, and overall the room felt neglected and unsanitary. The Tv was crocked on the wall. Breakfast was equally disappointing, Flies and lies served us.

The room was very nice. It has a very modern design for a historic hotel. We were on the first floor on the street side and it was very noisy from street noise. The hotel should consider some form of sound proofing. Otherwise, a very nice place.
