Not a proper hotel.
There was no one there to greet us or check us in. Luckily there was a guest there to show us where to look for our room key.
There was a note on the door with a phone number to ring, but if you didn't have a mobile phone, you might panic!
Breakfast was included in our price, so we thought as there was a kitchen there should be able to get an evening meal too.
No such luck. There was a note in the room advising you could get a meal if you asked for one 24 hours in advance!
Apart from the lack of information regarding the set up at Highfield Farm, we were impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel & the breakfast was freshly cooked & the staff ( when there were any there) were very friendly.
This is an establishment attached to a cookery school which provides day courses & weekday residential courses, so weekend bookings are an add on.
It is in the middle of nowhere & I think it would help if there were better signs off the main road to indicate the way to get to it.
These are minor points because the place is peaceful & the room was very clean.
There was a comfortable lounge with a big screen TV, but the TV in the room was so small you couldn't read any written information on it.
