A local recommended that we stay here for the historical/spooky factor. It certainly didn’t disappoint. Nightly ghost tour was a blast - and loved seeing more of the property than what most guests see. We had an issue with our patio door but one of the staff was very attentive and helped us fix it. We chatted with him about ghosts and got and extra spooky vibe. Much appreciated. The grounds are amazing and I wish we had more than one night to really explore more. We will be back!

We always enjoy our stay at the Algonquin. For us it’s the ambience it creates. The veranda, fire pits, and style of hotel is a unique experience. My only disappointment was the service from staff a couple of times. While sitting on the veranda for quite awhile we finally got the waiter’s attention and said we’d like to order a drink. He was very pleasant and placed a drink menu on our table and said he’d be right back. 40 minutes later we went to the bar ourselves and got our drinks. Also in the evening I went to the washroom in the lobby twice. When I went to wash my hands the first time I discovered no paper towel to dry my hands. I mentioned it to the desk staff when I left just as a courtesy. When I came back the second time a couple of hours later there was still no paper towel. Again I told a different desk clerk and they thanked me. The next morning I used the same washroom again. Alas still no paper towel. While I was drying my hands on tissue along with another women. We made a joke about it and I mentioned they hadn’t had any since last evening. She mentioned how they had ordered appetizers at the hotel and waited over 45 min and still hadn’t received them. They finally inquired and was told the waiter had gone home sick and didn’t put in their order. As I said we love the Algonquin but did feel a little surprised by the service. Overall the staff was lovely and friendly.

The facility is beautiful but the room on the 4th floor was very small and the bathroom was unpractically tiny. Being borderline claustrophobic it was a bit unsettling. The room was clean but the condiments for the inroom coffee were stale. Not what I would anticipate for the price and would not choose to stay again. The staff was super friendly, no issue at all with customer service.

This property is amazing although a little pricey it is exactly what you pay for this is my 4th stay here and will definitely be back the only negative thing this time is the fire alarm went off 2 nights in a row and we had to evacuate the building which was a little inconvenient and there was a buisness summit going on which made it very busy and full in the hotel also they set up a large laser tag game right outside of my room in which i had to leave n go somewhere until it was done as it was very loud

Carpet in room wasn’t fresh, staff were slow at times and seemed overwhelmed at reservation desk so had a few long waits - property great- shuttle to golf was very convenient - kids play room with pool table was fun but a bit dungeony Just needs a refresh but location is awesome
