2nd time staying there, loved both times. Parking and the valet is definitely an issue considering its location, but the guys at the valet are straight forward and informative. Building has so much history and is breathtaking. Rooms are upgraded just enough to not take away from its original design. Located just a 3-5 minute walk from Byward market and tons of restaurants. Also situated a short walk to parliament buildings.

Everything was amazing, although the Hotel was at full capacity every staff member that we encountered with was extremely professional, pleasant and helpful. This was our first time at this Fairmont location and will definitely return.

The service at the lobby is perfect. It's a clean hotel but the room are very small. The bathroom very very small and very old style for the price. Even the restroom at the lobby are very old style for that quality of hotel and for the price we paid. Also another point i didn't like is the parking. No choice you have to pay the valet service because there's no way to park your car. So you have to add 60$ if you pay for a night. But if not you pay 25$. I found that very strange and unfair. I was very disappointed over all. I was expecting better service better room and better quality over all. Sorry...but no more for me.

Creaky bed. Facilities very crowded on Saturday with 3 weddings. Only one set of lifts that were a long way from our room. Could go down the stairs but not up as locked off.

Great, but parking a problem
Perfect other than basically impossible to park there or even check in at the door, so be prepared to park a block away and lug you luggage.

A good stay
We stayed in the deluxe double room. The beds were very small and not comfortable. I would say they were a California twin not a full double bed. The room was large so I don’t know why the wouldn’t but in bigger beds. The staff were friendly but parking and food are expensive. The location cannot be beat! Biking, walking, no need for in and out privileges for the valet.

It was nice to hand the keys to the valet and just walk everywhere very convenient location. Your staff are the best we will definitely choose your hotel the next time we are in Ottawa.

Amazing location. Property with a personality and GREAT staff. Main room door misaligned. Changed room and door of the bath room didn’t close. A little bit dark for my taste.
