Escape the bustle and noise of everyday at Red Cottage Hideaway. The Skyview cottage was completed and opened in October of 2012. The little red farmhouse cottage peeps out from the folds of the eastern hills of Holmes County, directly in the heart of the worlds largest Amish community. Just 10 minutes from Berlin, Walnutcreek, and Winesburg. Our address says Dundee however we are in holmes county and Dundee is about 15 minutes from here! It is surrounded by stunning scenery amidst every season and is most breathtaking in the Fall. The cottages have wide open skies, at dusk it is a stargazer's paradise!
The cottage sleeps 2 and is equipped with amenities designed to pamper 2 guests for the ultimate evening or weekend away!
Located on a quiet township road.
While the cottage is a lovely country oasis, it is only 10-15 minutes from shopping and dining in Walnut Creek, Winesburg, or Berlin.
Hear the sound of neighboring buggies clip clap down the road and be reminded of the simpler life where there simply is no hurry.
Wrap in a blanket and cuddle with a book next to the toasty fire during gray winter months.
Relax on the deck listening to crickets and watching fireflies rise during the sultry summer twilight.
If you are drawn to the great outdoors, enjoy roasting sticky marshmallows over the fire pit and cook your steaks on the gas grill.
Well kept landscaping surrounds both cottages year round and each offers a private decorative concrete patio with built in fire-pits. Each cottage is stocked with an endless supply of firewood at no cost to you.
The cottage offers plenty of amenities such as onsite massage and special order flower bouquets for that special someone.

Beautiful location for this cottage. Gorgeous sunsets. Peaceful and quiet. The cottage seemed centrally located in Amish Country; close to attractions/shops/restaurants but away from the " main hub". We were able to recharge our souls. Would definitely stay here again ( or in one of the other ones)

Familiar with area but first time at this cabin. We will definitely return- very clean, comfortable and private stay. Close enough to Berlin, Sugarcreek etc but off the grid enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Great responsive hosts and wouldn’t change a thing with the cottage!

Peaceful retreat
We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage was just what we were looking for, welcoming and comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing enjoying sights and sounds of the countryside. Rich was so kind and helpful; helped me unload the car since my husband just had surgery and couldn't lift anything heavy. Would love to return for another stay!

My sister and I always go on our annual trip. We chose this place because it was only ten minutes from Berlin. This place by far has been the nicest. It had everything you needed, very clean and the decor made it so homey. The homemade cinnamon rolls and bread were such a sweet welcome. Loved sitting by the fireplace, which they provided the wood. Thank you Marilyn for providing us this beautiful place to stay. 😊

Anniversary Getaway
My hubs and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at this lovely cabin. The pictures don't do justice to the area. Each cabin on the property is beautifully set against a pastoral backdrop while keeping an appropriate distance from one another so that privacy is secure. We felt like royalty and enjoyed all of the promised amenities as pictured, including grilling out on the gas grill, soaking in the hot tub, and cooking a lovely brunch in the well-stocked kitchen. This site is a MUST BOOK and will bless you if you're looking for a quiet escape. The owners left some thoughtful sweet treats in honor of our stay and were very accessible before and during our stay. The area is lovely and if you're looking for some outdoor adventure, there are GREAT hiking trails with waterfalls within a 10-minute drive. We will definitely be staying again!

My husband and I traveled to Ohio for a quick birthday getaway weekend. The cottage is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Very easy check in, easy to operate controls for the tv and hot tub. Approximately 10-15 minutes to Berlin, the cottage sits on a very quiet side road- only a few cars per day passed by and a few buggies. There is an identical cottage further down the lane, and 2 other homes within view of the back porch and 2 homes across the road. However, there is enough distance between the homes that there is minimal impact to privacy. We were greeted with fresh flowers on the front porch and cinnamon rolls and bread in the fridge! We wished we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend!

We loved Skyview Cottage! The key feature is the towering stacked-stone double-sided fireplace. So nice, and it really warms the room up on cold mornings. We used the hot-tub, grill, fire pit. Check in could not have been easier. Gorgeous view, centrally located in Amish County. I definitely recommend Dundee Falls, although the hike is not easy. Loved the little touches, like the complimentary cinnamon rolls, the nice complimentary shower gels and shampoos. The bed was very comfortable. We loved everything!

Amazing property! Emaculate and beautifully decorated!! The heart of the cottage is the double sided fireplace with living room on one side and bedroom on the other. TVs on each side of stone chimney. The attention to detail was superb. Fresh ground coffee and maple cinnamon rolls and homemade bread was scrumptious. Hot tub and fire pit and beautiful porch swing. Loved it here. We wished we could have stayed longer. Places of peace and bliss.

This property is impeccably well taken care of and immaculately clean. If you have been hesitant to travel during the past few years, have no fear, you will feel very safe with the cleanliness here. Sky view cottage is a cute, quaint cottage with a cozy feeling indoors and outdoors. This is our second time staying in one of these cottages and we keep coming back because of the cleanliness of the cottages and all the details the host provides for your visit. The property is out in the country and beautiful. The views are amazing. The sunsets are great. Marilyn was so nice and awesome and answered every question we had in no time at all. The entire place was sent up so nice and was clean. Very close to all attractions but far enough away to relax. I'd recommend this place 100 times over. It made are trip worth while for a little getaway and relaxation.
