Historic building on the Mississippi River

Spend some relaxing time staying at our historic building on the Mississippi River in Hampton, Illinois. We have a spacious deck facing the river for that morning coffee with a Tiki bar for those afternoon and evening cocktails with beautiful sunsets. Fish off the pier. Bring your boat, kayak, canoe or jet-ski (there is a boat ramp a mile away) and spend the day on the river or at the sand bar beach a mile and a half downstream. Bring your bicycles because The Great River Trail bike path is literally right out the front door. There is a beautiful 33 acre park about 7 blocks south with an 18 hole Frisbee golf course. Illiniwek Park is just a half mile away with nature/hiking trails. As part of the Greater Quad Cities, Moline, Rock Island, Davenport and Bettendorf are only a few minutes away.
Just 4 miles from I-80 and 14 minutes from TPC at Deere Run golf course.
Winters are nice here too. Bald eagles are usually the most active during January and February.
This is a duplex (up and down) and we live on the top floor, so we are on site. This is a quiet neighborhood with limited parking, so parties/gatherings need to be low key. If you are here visiting friends or family and want to have a few people over that’s fine. Rentals are only for the registered guests to stay though.

Amazing place!
I hate leave a review because I would like to keep it a secret! This is our get away that we look forward to every time we stay here. Have stayed 4 times and can’t wait to stay again. Mike and Monica are so gracious. They stay away unless you have a need for them. The history of this wonderful place is as rich as the little riverfront area that surrounds it. Dollar General right up the street as well as a decent bar/restaurant and gas station. Right on the Mississippi River with a place to fish, and tiki bar outside to just enjoy the river view. Plenty of birds gracefully flying around and barges going by. So relaxing I can’t begin to tell you. Can’t wait to go back!

Great On the Water Get Away!
We were looking for a calm and quite respite, and this checked the boxes! Property and furniture were clean and comfortable. And despite the heat, we were able to spend time on the shaded deck. We found ourselves choosing to stay in and enjoy the river, adding a cold drink and a good book, and we were set. 10 out of 10! Its not often mentioned in reviews, but we appreciated that the rental fees charged were not exorbitant. Its a beautifully preserved historical landmark, and we appreciate that Mike and Monica make it possible for visitors to enjoy this gem.

Best time on the Mississippi!
My husband and I stayed 7 nights and our hosts were wonderful. The place was clean and comfortable with a very relaxed vibe. Its a old historical ground floor apartment. Mike told us all about the history of the place. It was facinating. Everything was there that we needed and we hated to leave. I loved going outside and having my coffee in the morning and watching the big barges go by on the Missisippi. Mike was avalable for anything we needed. I would highly recomend this place. It was a wonderful experience.

Relaxing place with a friendly host
Mike was very friendly and communicative. He met us on time for our early check-in and gave us a tour of the place. The space was very comfortable and we loved sitting on the deck watching the water and wildlife. We brought our bicycles and enjoyed a day of riding the local paths that go right in front of the rental.
