Oyo Sheffield on arrival there was nobody on reception so tried phone number 3 times and no answer. Waited 10 minutes for someone to turn up and was told we should have called the number! Booked deluxe room which was in a poor state. Dust and hair on desk. No towel radiator in bathroom just bare wires on wall. Shower rail loose and wouldn’t hold shower head up. Large chip in metal bath. Grubby carpets. Dirty mattress with no mattress topper as in description. Room desperately needed refurb. Asked to change room. Next room was ok but stank of stale cigarettes, even the bedding. Kept window open during the stay. Bathroom was better but towel rail didn’t heat up. Breakfast basic so didn’t eat much, hot buffet was cold so just took some fruit.

Tried ringing the hotel early on the morning to ask if we could drop our bags, no answer. called again from the train, no answer. Arrived early, walked into reception, no one there, called the number on reception (the same one I'd called earlier) Again no answer. Shouted through to hopefully attract attention. Nothing. A resident came down the stairs and informed us that there was someone in the restaurant upstairs, they let us through and we went upstairs, to be greeted by a lady, who had a phone on her. The room wasn't the best, comfy, but after dropping my towel and picking up to notice it covered in human hairs, it was obvious the carpet needed a vacuum. We checked out by dropping the key into the box. There was a chap on reception ringing the number for some milk, he'd been there 15 minutes. Short staffed?

Great budget friendly hotel, staff friendly and welcoming. Excellent location Outside looks a little run down but rooms are pleasant, comfortable and quite large Great breakfast. Perfect location for events at Ponds Forge!

The room was nice size and had plenty of amenities, but the tiles in the bathroom could do with re-grouting in places. The outside of the building looked like a building site with loads of wall tiles missing and boarded up windows/doors of a couple of small businesses but upon entering the main entrance it was so much nicer. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the guests on my floor were noisy, starting with a group arguing in the corridor with each other and on loudspeaker on their phones from 11.45 pm to 1.00 am. I was then woke up again at 3.00 am by a group of women down the corridor who were talking so loud I thought they were right outside my door and after an hour of this I had to call the hotel reception and ask them to speak to the other guests about the noise. The staff responded quickly, but unfortunately the group started again around 7.00 am so I had very little sleep all night. The breakfast was very good and cooked the way I like, although I was disappointed there was no options for eggs other than scrambled as I don't eat scrambled egg and was looking forward to a fried egg with my breakfast. Overall the hotel was nice and the price was good. The food at breakfast was good and if it wasn't for the noisy guests I would of had a nice night.

Excellent location with discounted parking at the adjacent NCP carpark. Our room was spacious, quiet and very clean. Breakfast was more than adequate with a good range of hot options. Fried eggs would be a good addition. Price was lower than other similar quality competitors.

This hotel was filthy! Bedroom and bathroom dirty and kitchen/communal area unhygienic. Couldn't stay there, checked out and promised a refund, which didn't get issued.

When we pulled up and saw the outside i said to the other half omg what have you brought me to look at state lol . But once inside was totally different room was very nice and roomy bed was super comfy and the reakfast was lovely and plenty . So the old saying never judge a book by its cover comes to mind . Will deffo be staying again when visiting sheffield
