It's a great hotel/hostel, very clean and cosy. The only negative (other than street parking) was the traffic noise that I could hear at great volume in my room. All the other rooms were further from the road so it might not be as bad in those. Ear plugs are provided but I don't work well with them so wasn't able to sleep well on the first night. I was knackered on night two so that was a much better night's sleep! The location is great, lovely pub close by and a superb chipper run by locals that does pizza and kebabs too. Try the Hoggie, it's ace!

Lovely, friendly place
Edinburgh is very over priced when it comes to hotel rooms. I managed to get this room quite cheap so expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. All the things that you want to be good were good. VERY CLEAN (room and linen) although a shared bathroom, it was a very clean and spacious one. Very very friendly staff. The room furniture was dated a little, but judging a chest of drawers holds no point, as long as it is clean and not broken. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place to stay, it was room only, very clean tidy and spacious. Lovely and warm. Tea coffee water in room for you. Reception open 10-6pm 11am check out f early post room key in box. They give you tokens for breakfast with two cafes to get 10% discount. We used Yo Yo’s 3 minute walk from hotel. Absolutely delicious, very friendly staff and lovely menu and service. Will return.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff were so incredibly friendly, it was easily accessible from the city centre by the number 7, 14 or 11 buses and it’s quiet. The bed was super comfy and all other amenities were excellent. I was pretty jet lagged so I appreciated coming to this quiet area and resting. Thank you for everything and I will for sure be back!

The location was really comfortable and spotlessly clean! There is a bus stop right outside with easy access to the town center and all activities. I really liked it there a lot and will certainly stay there again whenever I am in Edinburgh again. Moreover, the people who run this location are so very helpful and kind, it feels like you are visiting family!

This is a well run and maintained establishment with good facilities. It is on good bus lines into the CBD and there is a local market right across the street. There is free street parking which does fill up by 8pm but even after that there is street parking to be found within a block or two.

We loved staying at the 4 Friends House. It's in a quiet neighborhood with many amenities nearby. Bus stops are right down the street and the tram is a 10-15 minute walk and will take you to and from the airport. It's a great spot to explore the Leith area with ample restaurants and pubs around. The staff was so friendly. Our flight arrived long before check-in, but they were able to hold our luggage so we could explore more easily. We hope to return to Edinburg at some point, and 4 Friends will be on the top of our list to book again!

The team were great at communicating with me including ensuring I’d be there prior to the desk closing and directions from Waverley. I stayed in a room with an en suite which was nice to have. While bus makes it easy (7/14) to get to town centre the tram is a longer way as you need to walk about 18 mins from/to the stop.

Me and my sisters stayed here and had a lovely stay. Pros: very affordable, feels safe, friendly staff, great water pressure in the shower, and close to the bus stop, restaurants, and a local grocery store. Cons: not super comfy beds, small room, and lots of narrow stairs to get to the top floor. We stayed here because of the price. It was what we needed at the time, just a safe place to rest our heads as we were out exploring Edinburgh all day and didn't intend to spend much time on our room.
