The property was fine and the breakfast in particular did not disappoint. The village was close and we dined there. Our one night stay was very comfortable.

This is a decent, country village hotel. Nothing fancy, but really good value if you need to economise while visiting North Berwick, or playing golf at one of the East Lothian courses.

Hotel not the best
Room was very basic , but clean , breakfast was good , unfortunately the language no the bar was terrible and the bar girl was part of the conversation, so that wasn’t pleasant , also I had left my phone charger and when I went back for it , one of the workers had to bring it back from her house , so not impressed at all

Good sized family room, lovely and helpful staff. A packed lunch was made for us both mornings of our stay as we had to leave before breakfast. The food in the restaurant is lovely and service was great.

Short Stay in Area
Had a couple of problems with the room which were raised with staff to fix. Food was very good as was the service. All rooms are on upper floors and there is no lift so this could be an issue for people with mobility issues.

We liked the garden and the fact that we were able to eat dinner outside on such a lovely evening. The food was good and portions generous. our room was pretty small and the en suite bathroom was really cramped. That said, this old-fashioned hotel was good value for money.

Mr Potts
Village location, roadside parking available, small but friendly, bar and restaurant lovely home cooking. Room adequate allthough the shower presdure was not good, clean and tidy, stayed here a few times only criticism kettle needed a clean inside. And I felt a little uneasy as I was challenged on payment the morning after my stay luckily I produced the receipt. Maybe a little miscommunication. Overall nice stay and I would recommend for foreign visitors, as an ideal stop on route to Edinburgh and beyond.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The building was clean, room was ok. Could have done with a wipe over on mirrors and bathroom surfaces. The shower could do with being replaced as it was certainty lacking in power and full of mold/limescale. Also a shower tray would be useful to place toiletries on while showering. It would also be useful to have information in the room in regards to food menu times served and breakfast times etc. Breakfast didnt start till 08.30 so to late for us to even get some cereal as we needed to leave at 08.30 for an event. We did eat at the hotel for tea it was a lovely meal but i would have expected my steak to be cooked to my preference (medium) from a steakhouse, it arrived well done I did not raise this as we went close to last ordering time and most of the steak was moist anyway. Im sure they would have rectified this if I did raise it. We enjoyed walking around the area and there is a park near by that our daughter enjoyed. There is also a coop close by. Parking was easy enough directly outside the building.
