Compared to other hotels around the world, this one is great, probably an 8 out of 10. Compared to other hotels in Maldives, it's a bit subpar, I'd say a 7 out of 10. Little details like lack of things to do when it rains, not enough golf cars to ferry people around, shower pressure being low, flashlight in room having no battery, even our door handle had to have its battery changed twice during our stay, aircon leaking on the bed... none of this is a huge deal, but it was our 5th time in Maldives and we got used to a certain standard.

The staff is friendly, how ever check in process was too long, we did upgrade to all inclusive and they didn’t have it in the reservation, they had to check with reservations department which took another waiting time, we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and they said they have complimentary room decoration and a cake but the decoration didn’t happen either. Buggy service is not frequently and if it’s raining and you ask them to pick you up on their way they won’t stop. Beach area is beautiful and food quality is great.

The worst part of the vacation was the reception desk. They would not return calls which were required for dinner reservations at all the restaurants. They would tell that they would call me back to confirm the reservation and did not on several occasions. I also had an issue with a broken soap dispenser in the shower and called one day and had to call the next day again about it. The last night we were also supposed to get a departure letter from the reception and did not receive one. I called and then lied to me why I did not get one, they said I had my do not disturb sign on the door which i never used during my stay. I do plan to go again to the Maldives but I will not me staying at the Hard Rock Hotel because of this negative experience. One positive experience was a server named RJ at the Hard Rock Cafe. His excellent service, great attitude and infectious smile made for a outstanding dining experience.
