Situated 2 1/2 hours’ drive North of Colombo’s airport on the West Coast, it’s the only house of it’s kind on a privately owned, pristine beach. Unlike the beaches in the South, the calm waters have no currents so children are perfectly safe.

Set 150 metres back from the water’s edge, Khomba is designed on an open plan basis with high ceilings, fans, polished floors and overhanging eaves in order to enjoy the cool ocean breeze while also bathing in the glorious temperate light.

At the end of the garden is one of the most brilliant beaches in Sri Lanka. Completely private, very few other people (just the occasional fisherman) and you have your own private beach hut.
While Khomba is completely private, within a short walk you will have access to three neighbouring boutique hotel, which has a swimming pool which they have kindly agreed our guests can use free of charge . In addition they have a beach side bar and restaurant if you can rip yourself away from Khomba.
The area is largely undiscovered, which means there are no beach hawkers and you're encouraged to help pull in the fishermens nets.
Our team of gardeners have built a tropical paradise in the six acre harden. With an abundance of fruit trees, a coconut grove, teak plantation and a fresh water pond stuffed with Koi carp, its a paradise for the stunning local birdlife. Aside from the many tropical birds, flashing with colour, and the 1,000's of dolphins which put on a daily display, turtles are often spotted on the beach in the evening and migratory whales can be found a little further out following the continental shelf.
Khomba has four bicycles which can be used to visit the neighbouring resorts, who have kindly allowed us to use their facilities, or venture further afield to the local town.
Aside from numerous hammocks and chill out spaces the garden also has a full size badminton/volleyball pitch.
Kalpitiya has a growing reputation for wind and kite surfing during the low season on the lagoon. There are numerous local schools offering courses for beginners and experienced surfers alike.
If you are planning to include Khomba Beach House as part of a longer tour of Sri Lanka, It falls on a route which would include Wiulpatu National Park, the cultural triangle and Kandy tea estates.
Khomba was selected as one of the best beach side properties in the world by Conde Nast Magazine.
