The reception staff were very friendly. I gave an average score for area around property as it was slightly noisy but due to being on a main road. It wasn’t a particularly attractive area but there was a diner opposite, which did an excellent breakfast.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Redwood Forest! It was a GREAT location to do that! The hotel is older... but with lots of charm! Check-in was easy and the lady that checked us in was the sweetest! Our room was clean with a coffee pot, microwave, fridge .. and the cutest shower I've ever seen. The shower was small but what it lacked in size it made up for in cuteness and great water pressure! The hotel was full, but we never heard anyone! Very quiet! We would definitely stay here again!

What a cool mid century vibe this place has, from the low slung architecture to the beautiful vintage furniture in the rooms. Be sure to walk across the street to enjoy a stroll around the harbor.

Lots of sketch stuff seems to be around and the property and structure is super old and smelly. Staff dont seem to care about much in the way of helping guests. They seem pretty annoyed to talk with us.

Pros: super convenient parking, you basically have a parking spot right in front of your room. Very nice. And as a woodworker/cabinet maker I love all the redwood, that part is pretty cool. Cons: it is a bit dated, meaning that the furniture is from the 60's and the chairs are not very comfortable to sit on if you want to watch tv. The shower is old and small but it works fine. Our room had a smell coming from one section of the carpet, but I was told that I couldn't switch rooms so I guess we got used to it! If it had nicer king size beds (instead of old queen beds) and the room smelled a bit better, it would probably get a better rating from me. It is a good value, rooms are terribly expensive anymore, so for the price I can't really complain. Would probably stay here again when visiting the Redwoods.

This property has a beautiful retro charm and feels like it has a lot of history. For the price, it was just what we were expecting. The mattress was a bit soft and typical of a motel mattress, but the room was clean and the staff was very friendly. It was perfect for a one night stay as we were traveling the coast.

Vintage Charm Prevails
I booked this spot because it had a lovely 1950s vintage feel which I love. The bathrooms have been updated which is good! But they didn't stick to the theme but didn't make me mad at all. It truly was a gorgeous property that they do not make any more.
