Clean and well kept. A great location and probably unique to the California coast. The pillows on bed could be updated.

Sweet home
We really enjoyed the house. We had been a bit confused about the two double beds being in the same room but if all worked out in the end. Very peaceful. We enjoyed!

this is a gem! very clean, quiet, right on the canal, short walk to the waterfront ... it had everything we needed. the management is by vacasa instead of the private owner. the keypad for opening the door was malfunctioning and it took them 3 hours to answer our text. the bicycles had flat tires, and there were no instructions about how to get the kayaks in and out of the canal. even with those issues, this place is sweet sweet. we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. i think that places that are operated by the owners tend to work out better.

Not as Expected Location & Weather
It was cold! Two days in a 62 degree house before we figured out heating. Only a breakfast/lunch place nearby within walking distance…and it was closed two days of our stay. When the sun came out it was pleasant but remote. One wine glass?! Most everything else was used but adequate. Very uncomfortable seating throughout.

Great Little House
This was a great little house perfect for a family of 4 with teens. Location was a good feature. Easy on/off from Hwy 101 yet very quiet. The kayaks, bicycles, and gas grill were all welcome items. The house was also very clean and had a well stocked kitchen. We are really happy we stayed here vs a hotel and we would stay again if we were ever in the area.

Great stay!
Had a great stay in this cozy little cottage on the canal! Explored the surrounding towns and Redwood parks, took the canoe and bike out, and just had a relaxing post-holiday vacation. There was a minor issue the first night, but they sent someone out immediately to take care of it (can't remember her name, but she was great!!), and no issues afterward. Next time we're looking for a place to stay on the Coast, will definitely book this place again!

Cute little cottage
This was an adorable little cottage right on a canal. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out for rides along the canal. This little house was close to Eureka and Ferndale which we enjoyed visiting. My one BIG problem was the heaters in this house are not reliable. When we got there on Saturday evening the house was freezing. I tried the wall heater it did not work I tried the built in heater it turned on but did not blow any hot air. We got a small space heater from upstairs and brought it downstairs but it barely took the chill off the air. After about an hour I called the property manager 24 hour hotline. The lady wrote down my concern and said someone would call soon. I did not get a call until the next morning around 8:30. The property manager walked me through how to fix the wall heater which involved sticking a butter knife into the metal grate to click on a button. Once I did that the heater came on. From then on we were nice and cozy. However I do find it strange that this heater issue has not been taken care of. Asking guests to put butter knives into heaters does not seem appropriate to me.

Humboldt stay
We liked our place, it was quiet and close to day outings. A few suggestions - please get a new tea kettle! Someone is going to get burned with the broken spout. And I was looking forward to warm baths but no way to plug the tub that we could find. Quite disappointing. Lastly, we got here 15 minutes early, the house was empty and ready and they would not unlock it any sooner than 4:00. Kinda ridiculous for the cost and the fact that our party members really needed the restroom.

Great cabin away from the city
This well-appointed cabin perfectly suited the space needs for my adult son and me. The master suite was especially beautiful. It was fun to sit on the deck in the evening for wine and conversation as we listened to the gentle lap of water. Because of the outgoing tide, our morning cup of coffee had a different and unexpected view. We loved having access to bicycles for riding part of the Lost Coast Trail. Other renters should be aware that this property is an estimated 4-5 miles from the city which meant driving into Eureka for meals.
