Doesn't get any better.
High design: white with wood accents. Very private. Super clean. Amazing view. Kitchen was fully equipped. AC worked great and was very quiet. Operating the TV, though, was over my pay grade. Alexandra, our hostess, was terrific. Getting around the village is complicated. Waze and Google maps both failed me due to construction road closures.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. A beautiful place in one of the nicer towns with plenty of food options, great coffee at the bakery and a relaxing atmosphere. Very sleepy town but it comes alive at night.

Perfect villa in beautiful Kamilari
This villa is a loved home and it shows - from the moment we arrived we felt at home. It is equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. The pool is bijoux but just what you need to cool off and the air con does the trick when the temperatures hit the 30s. Stunning roof terrace and views to die for over hills and olive trees with the sea sparkling in the distance. Kamilari town is unspoilt with many tavernas to choose from (Loggia and Acropolis were super) and winding streets around the church and square. Beaches nearby at Matala, Komos and Agia Galini and Kokkinos Pyrgos - all different but all worth checking out for that clear blue sea!

Such a beautiful house and location
This was our second trip to Villa Maria and it was as equally lovely as the last visit. The house and views are amazing and so very peaceful and it felt like home from home.

Heaven on Earth
Villa Maria really is perfection for those who want to get away from it all, yet are a stones throw from fabulous Cretan hospitality. I really do not know where to start with the superlatives with regard to this property..... So I will start with my initial communications with Myriam (the owner). Myriam was incredibly helpful and an absolute joy to deal with. And the villa? There are too many positives to list.......but I will try and start on the inside.... The architecture of the building is fabulous....intimate yes spacious. The layout has obviously been considered and thought through.....to come out of the bedroom in the morning (the hallway services the two bedrooms) and to turn into the living room to see the mountains which are framed by the floor to ceiling window really is food for the soul and a view that is eternally inspiring. It's functional (the kitchen is fully equipped with high end branded products and the full size fridge/freezer was wonderful) and the furniture is tasteful and stylish. The beds were SO comfortable!!! As for the outside space.....well, it really could not be any better. The views of the mountains and the sea are so wonderfully grounding and the weather was wonderful....hot, but being on the south side of Crete, the near constant breeze was perfect. The pool was wonderful and the views from the roof terrace as we watchd the sun disappear into the sea every evening was sublime. We have never had such a holiday where we literally felt fully relaxed and at home as soon as we had walked through the door.... We cannot recommend Villa Maria highly enough and we will be returning. We feel as the place is part of us now as it's perfection touched us both so deeply!

First time in Crete was just great!
This was the first time my wife & I had been to Crete and our holiday was simply perfect. The Villa was gorgeous and we were made so welcome and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great local store with everything we needed and we dined out almost every night at the excellent local restaurants. We never drive on holiday, so the friendly local taxi driver meant travelling to other locations was a stress-free experience. We can heartily recommend Villa Kamilari to all. Villa Maria is wonderfully located with astonishing views of the mountains and the sea. The sunsets are truly mesmerizing. Great house with all necessary amenities. Very clean, beautifully decorated and a nice refreshing pool. The surrounding area is very quiet which was something we really appreciated. The town of Kamilari is idyllic. Great if you want to try truly local Cretan cuisine. Our host Alexandra runs the restaurant Loggia and we can highly recommend it. Villa Maria is ideally located with the beach of Kalimaki and the towns of Matala and Agia Galini all close by. In short, highly recommended place for discovering this part of Crete.

Fantastic Villa in the real Crete
This is a great villa with all the comforts you need for a great holiday. The outside areas are amazing, plenty of sun loungers and shade. The roof terrace is the ultimate sun trap, but be careful not to burn. Inside the house are all the facilities you will need, the aircon comes in handy on the really hot days. The kitchen is more equipment than most allowing you to cook what ever you want. The local village has some excellent restaurants and you get a real sense that you are experiencing a different culture. A car is essential and the road up to the house is very steep but once you have mastered the bends you will be fine. The only downside in the kitchen is the oven is in a cupboard, not really sure why or how safe that is, so when you use the oven you have the door open making it hard to get to the hob and the cupboard with all the pans in. Itā€™s very peaceful but there are some local dogs that like to bark which can be a bit annoying. Overall a definite great house and after visiting the other side of the island that is very touristy this is definitely better for those that what to experience a taste of Cretan life.

Amazing stay in Crete
The amazing house in beautiful Kamilari even exceeded our expectations. The location and the view is just fantastic, the house is very modern and chic, everything works properly and with the pool it is just the perfect combo. Ein kleines aber sehr zweckmƤƟig eingerichtetes Ferienhaus. Traumhafter Blick auf Berge und Meer. Wir waren im April da und froh, dass wir dicke Pullover dabei hatten ( es gibt keine richtige Heizung). KĆ¼che ist sehr gut ausgestattet, die BƤder sind minimalistisch aber stylisch. Super nette Betreuung vor Ort, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefĆ¼hlt.

Das Haus und die Lage ist sehr gut. Die einrichtung und die GerƤte funktionieren einwandfrei. Ruhige Lage. Das einzige, was verbessert werden sollte, ist die Beschattung der SitzplƤtze draussen, es hat zu wenig mƶglichkeiten den Esstisch den Sitzplatz zu beschatten Die Taverne Loggia ist zum essen sehr zu empfahlen.

Komfortable Villa mit tollem Weitblick auf Meer und Berge
Das Haus ist wunderschƶn gelegen mit herrlichem Weitblick auf das Meer und das Psiloritis Gebirge, wo im Juni noch Schnee am Gipfel liegt. Im fuƟnahen Ɩrtchen sind mehrere sehr gute Tavernen und in 5-10 Minuten Autofahrt ist man im am schƶnen Strand Kalamaki oder dem belebten Matala. Das Haus ist luxuriƶs ausgestattet und hat einen sehr gepflegten Pool und Garten. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen, wir empfehlen das HƤuschen ohne EinschrƤnkungen!
