If you plan to spend a few nights in the middle of Fenyuan, you may have a difficult time. However, there are 8 hotels available within a radius of 10-kilometre.

Some of the most comfortable places to stay near the main areas are the Yuanlin Business Hotel and Ardi Hotel.

If you don't have any issues with setting up base 16 kilometres outside of the city, look into the neighbourhood of East District. It has 5 available hotels, including Twinstar Hotel and Hotel Mi Casa.

If you find yourself needing more accommodation options in Fenyuan, look into the Hotel ONE Taichung and the Mirage Hotel. They are located 16 kilometres and 17 kilometres away from the city's main streets. Wotif also suggests the Millennium Vee Hotel Taichung and the Windsor Hotel Taichung. The first is 17 kilometres away from town, while the other is 19 kilometres away.

The close by localities of Changhua City Centre and Yongjing are certainly worth exploring. This property is wonderful in every way imaginable. The property is in a great location with a bus stop right across the street that transports you around the Lake. In addition, the breakfast and dinner buffets are out of this world abundant with too many options to mention. I would recommend anyone who wants to visit Sun Moon Lake to stay. But how great Fleur de Chine Hotel is I want to say that Expedia customer service is complete garbage. I've been a customer for decades and each year I keep getting amazed at how much crappier their customer service can get. My reservation during booking said that they took a deposit at the time and I'm supposed to pay the balance at the hotel but when I arrived they said that they never received the deposit and that I needed to pay in full. The subsequent 40 minutes we tried to get in touch with Expedia customer service greatly angered both myself and the reception desk. We gave up and ended up doing my own detective work in going back through months of credit card statements to see if a deposit was taken. It turned out that it wasn't so the Hotel was correct but Expedia was wrong. I don't know why I'm surprised that this was the outcome considering that my sister recently booked an entire vacation through Expedia. However, due to some mixup, she wanted to reinstate a hotel which Expedia refused. Not sure I want to continue to use them
