We spent 3 nights at the Stanford Resort, in Fernis for a family reunion so did not get time to use the pool which looked very inviting. The hotel staff were very friendly, the room was very quiet as we were on the river side, away from the hwy. I would certainly recommend this hotel for a family or couples stay, in today's market good value. Thanks Stanford & staff.

I want to give this hotel a 5 star because it has so much potential. While the rooms were clean there was a lot of wear and tear. Bathroom was clean but needed major reno's (shower curtain rod was falling off, taps were loose, needed a good paint and repair, door stuck, etc.). It has an amazing location on the river and Fernie is of course a wonderful town. Breakfast was nothing great. Ok if you like to eat a lot of sugar. Coffee was ok, I had toast and sliced up a cold hard boiled egg from the fridge which sufficed since the fruit options were limited and I am not into a lot of processed sugary options.

Family business. We book two room back to back . They are able to arrange us to early tranfer to the next room before 10am . Service 4/5 because they only have 5 staff in the hotel to take care of the restaurant room service front desk pool and house keeping . But overall perfect experience.

Nice hotel in Fernie. It is conveniently located just off the highway, however, the downfall is that traffic noise is plentiful but youre in a beautiful location so who cares. I found the room to be good. Our view of the mountains was spectacular. We got a loft suite which worked well with our family. There was quite a bit of wear and tear on the walls and the flooring. The cleanliness of the bathroom was not up to my standard. I will state it in pretty much every review that its not good enough. I feel that every commercial establishment should do a thorough cleaning of their bathrooms at least twice a year. Like get in there and clean the corners, tops of baseboards, scrub the mildew...its gross! The back of our door had something that had splashed on it. Back hall and stairwell carpet was disgusting The continental breakfast was nothing special, just an average continental breakfast. It worked for us and it is what i expected. Would have liked to see more options to toast instead of just white bread and white gluten free bread....maybe bagels, english muffins and something whole wheat or with grains. More selection of fruit vs just oranges also but...it was definitely worked and my boys had no complaints. We used the pool and hot tub daily. The outdoor hot tub is great! The pool was clean as was the area around it. Didnt try the restaurant so cant comment there but it has good online reviews. The property backs onto the river which is a nice site to see.

The property is old, dirty, with moldy bathrooms. Walls are peeling. Linens looked used. The breakfast had paper plates and plastic packaging for utensils. Not environmentally friendly at all. The hot tub and surrounding pavement had cracks. Walls were paper thin. Truly a terrible experience. The location was just out of town, not bad, but not really walkable either.

We had blast at this hotel. The rooms are set up perfectly for families. The waterslide was a hit. The continental breakfast was great. The only thing I would have improved is the amount of seating available during breakfast. Its hard to get a seat if you arrive between 9-10. Location ia great and we loved that the elk river was right behind the hotel. Made for aome really beautiful morning walks with the dog!
