I wanted to review this hostel higher but there were some major issues. They greeted us so warmly & we instantly felt comfortable. Being shown to our room it was fine; basic but comfortable. The first issue is that the door did not lock, meaning we had to leave all out bags in an unattended room which in places like this can be unsafe, they had told us that the last guest left with the key so we emapthized.Trusting them as they had shown such kindness, constantly telling us “big welcome” we truly felt at ease booking a trip to the desert with them. However Everything we had been promised about the tour did not go as planned in the slightest, we had booked two nights starting after an 8 hour car ride to have showers and get ready for the evening. We actually showed up hours late due to the driver stopping at the bank; to get milk, to visit his friends. We arrived and were demanded we get out of the car, unpack our bags taking only what we needed for a night; than our bags were taken from us. The camel trip was horrific they did not treat the camels well at all and we actually chose to walk because of the terrible treatment. In the desert they piled us into terrible sleeping conditions and provided no washroom. It was horrific conditions people were in tears. We were woken at 5 am and marched out without food or water, taken back to a hostel, than were demanded we pay more money to either stay or to catch a bus somewhere else. So disappointing and unsafe truly devistating.
